E320 surging idle.04 Mar 2005 17:31 GMT1
Has anyone had experience with their idle surging ( bouncing) from 150 rpm
up to 900 rpm and back again.  It started doing this on occasion and is
getting more regular in its happening.  It is quite aggravating to have the
car act like you want to jump the light sitting next to ...

Any way to access the truck of an 1987 300E when the truck won't open. I

Mercedes Starmark warranty04 Mar 2005 00:58 GMT3
I just put a deposit on a 2001 E320 4matic with 12,618 miles on it (I
checked the warranty history and carfax report - clean) and am considering
either a 2 year mercedes extended warranty or going to AAA (American
Automobile Association) for a 4 year warranty.  From what I can ...

Hello, could someone please tell me if the engine in this model year 1989
300E still uses distributor technology or does it use Electronic Fuel
Injection (EFI)?
Future maintenance repairs on 93 190E 2.603 Mar 2005 18:01 GMT5
My 1993 190E 2.6 Sportline has just passed 105,000 miles.  It's been
maintained by the book, always garaged, and is in great condition.  I
hope to continue driving it for at least another 100,000 miles.  (It's
had no major repairs except for a new auto transmission at 95,000 ...
Chrysler design of CLS Coupe03 Mar 2005 17:29 GMT2
When I saw the 4 dr coupe, it looked sort of like it had a few tons of
steel plate dropped on it to squash it down. But then I got in it and
realized it wasn't squashed down - the body metal just had some yeast
left in it and the metal came up too far and squashed the windows. I

late to early 80's diesels03 Mar 2005 03:23 GMT8
How reliable are the early to late 80's MB diesels? I am considering buying
one for a daily driver. Also what kind of mileage can I expect and are there
any chronic problems with them?

Relay has double contacts ???02 Mar 2005 22:47 GMT10
The glow plug relay on my diesel Mercedes, an 83 300SD has two sets of
parallel contacts but only uses one because the other has a gap of about
0.035" when the first set closes.  I thought this was due to improper
alignment and I bent the other arm so that both would make contact ...

cocomats?02 Mar 2005 17:15 GMT8
I figured this would be an okay place to ask since cocomats.com is a Star
advertiser. Does anybody know what's happened to Jeff at cocomats? I had
some correspondance with him, then asked for some swatches, he said he'd
send them. I never got them and can't get any e-mail responses ...
Why is Battery Bracket corroding Now??02 Mar 2005 16:39 GMT5
Greetings all,
Last month I changed out the original battery on my 95 S320.  The
battery compartment in the trunk was clean and no signs of corrosion
anywhere.  Today I  looked into the battery compartment area and was
'85 300CD02 Mar 2005 16:07 GMT14
I am looking at a 1985 300CD to buy.  The car is super clean with just
over a hundred thousand on it.  I believe it is over priced as the guy
wants $6K for it but maybe I'm off.  Anybody have an opinion
Thanks,
1972 220- Timing Chain removal02 Mar 2005 08:04 GMT5
so i finally got the cylinder head seperated, with a good dose of violence.
is it necessary that i seperate the timing chain, as it would catch on the
tensioner, or is there a way to bypass the need to seperate the chain, by
removing the tensioner for instance or some other clever ...
COMAND system opinions02 Mar 2005 03:44 GMT3
I am looking at a 2001 E class, with the COMAND system.  I was wondering
what the general opinion of this system is - is it a decent navigation
system?  The car is not local so I cannot look at it first hand.  The only
navigation system I have used is one from a 2005 BMW M3 which ...
