Oil Light?14 Mar 2005 17:53 GMT6
Lately the oil light has been coming on intermittently in my 91 300CE.  Oil
levels are full.  I got an oil change the other day and immediately
afterward the light came on again.  Pressure is normal, oil levels normal,
everything normal.  The only issue I know of is an oil leak ...
Glow Plug Questions14 Mar 2005 17:12 GMT13
I have one bad glow plug (#1 cylinder) on my 83' 300SD.  I have a couple
of questions about how the glow system works.
1) Apparently, the glow system relay has an internal reed relay which
compares the current of #1 glow plug against the current of the the

Don't lose sleep over your Bekker Grand Prix Radio!14 Mar 2005 03:21 GMT25
Your Grand Prix tape/radio was created at a time before the word "Digital"
was in our vocabulary. It's radio is poor by today's standards, and nobody
makes cassette tape anymore or listens to tape anymore. Merceders-Benz would
be hard pressed to find a customer who would spend ...
How to adjust alternator on 85 300 SD14 Mar 2005 02:56 GMT3
I am trying to tighten the alternator belts, as they are squealing very
badly. Have to do it from below, as the turbo blocks it from above. I
loosened the upper bolt that slides along a "channel", and the lower bolt a
little, too. Just above the alternator there is something ...
SLK230 - Australia13 Mar 2005 22:45 GMT3
Just bought a beautiful used SLK in incredible condition, except the armrest
door lining, below the airbag section, has come away. There seems to be no
way of re-attaching it. Any suggestions?

450 SLC steering wheels13 Mar 2005 22:40 GMT13
I own a 1980 450 SLC and my only complaint is the sheer size of the
steering wheel. The car is based in Australia but I would be interested in
any information on sourcing an old style Nardi stainless steel/wood rimmed
steering wheel and an appropriate boss/adaptor kit. New or used, ...
ABS & BAS/ESP Lights now on after Emergency Stop 1998 R129 500SL13 Mar 2005 17:11 GMT2
Driving along a few days ago had to do a sudden stop.
Both ABS & BAS/ESP lights came on.
If you switch off and back on both the above lights come on as soon as you
move and the wheels lock if you hit them hard (ie no ABS)

1999 SLK230 vs 2000 SLK23013 Mar 2005 07:08 GMT4
I am about to get an SLK230 and have found a good nice 1999 model.  My
only concern is that a mechanic told me that the series changed in
2000 and the 2000 series SLK230's were much better mechanically and
better to drive.  Does anyone have any experience in this area?  Is it

Suctioning engine Oil thro' dipstick for a 1999 E300 Turbodiesel13 Mar 2005 04:40 GMT14
Is there a way to suction the engine oil thro' the dip stick, for changing
oil? Getting to the drain plug for my car involves removing the cover at the
bottom and is quite tedious. Are there inexpensive suction devices that I
can get to perform this? See,s like this will greatly ...
Wiper blade refill size for 99 ML320 (21" or 22")13 Mar 2005 02:36 GMT3
I chose the wrong length refill while I was at the store today.  My guess
was based on a car model chart they had hanging in Kmart.  Oh well....
Does anyone know the corretc length of windshield wiper blade refills I need
for a ML320 (1999)?  It has metal wipers.  It also looks like ...
