I've seen differing comments on fuel economy of bio diesel. Some say better, some say worse. What say the experts here? Chris

| Milky-looking tranny fluid? | 27 Apr 2005 23:04 GMT | 4 |
I have an 1985 Mec. 300SD. Tranny works perfect. I noticed that the tranny fluid now has a milky-pink look.... Like Pepto-Bismol. What I am thinking is that I may have over-filled the tranny. I think this causes air bubbles that make it look like this? Seems like I heard

| Bought a 1970 280SEL | 27 Apr 2005 21:57 GMT | 5 |
I just bought a '70 280SEL from an acquaintance as a HS graduation present for my daughter, and I now find myself in the dubious position of taking care of it. Since she's off to college in the Fall, the car's going to be sitting covered in our yard for nine months out of the year, ...

Have owned this '92 300TE for a few weeks. Great car! Have smelled strong gas fumes (in interior only) ever since I filled up this week. No smell under hood or around body exterior. No gas smell before this week. I do know that both fuel pumps have been changed in the past

| 300SD: starter pinion not going forward enough? | 27 Apr 2005 12:17 GMT | 7 |
I am rebuilding the starter for a 1985 300 SD for the first time, so I may be making some dumb mistake. I tested it off-car with my jump-starter. The starter runs fine, but the drive pinion only moves forward about 1/4 to 3/8 in. I am thinking that to engage the

| MB valve body question... | 27 Apr 2005 12:06 GMT | 2 |
I am about to install a used transmission in my 84 190e ... because after a very expensive 'flush/filter/fluid' change, trans began 'flaring' over 3rd and going quickly to 4th. The clutches seem fine on this box ... car drives very nicely if shifted manually ... would it be worth ...

| Knocking noise from underneath when going over small bumps | 27 Apr 2005 10:23 GMT | 5 |
I have just purchased an E220 Cdi (1999) and I'm hearing knocking noises when I go over the smallest of bumps. It seems to be coming more from the passenger side, and from the front. I've heard this noise many times when I've got into a neglected minicab.

| Help, location of O2 sensor 300E | 27 Apr 2005 06:42 GMT | 1 |
I have just become very aware that this is a critical component to periodically replace (after failing HC high rpm emission). Seems fairly straight forward to do if I could only see where on the exhaust it is screwed in. I would have thought before the catalytic converter, but

| blinkers/turn signals on 84 300d turbo diesel | 26 Apr 2005 20:53 GMT | 8 |
I just bought this 84 300 d turbo diesel and am trying to figure out why the turn signals and hazzards don't work. I checked the lamps and looked for the fuses but couldn't find one marked for the turn signal etc. Besides, all the fuses look good or are now good (I changed a

| 1980 300SD Windshield and Rear Window Seals | 26 Apr 2005 14:02 GMT | 7 |
I've got two rain leaks going on that are driving me nuts. One is in the front windshield which results in water pooling in the heater blower cage. The other is in the rear window, resulting in water getting into the right rear trunk area. I'm pretty sure they are from
