I have an 81 380sl that tends to run hot in the summer, and I heard that water is a much better coolant than anti-freeze. So I was wondering if diluting my coolant would cause my car to to run cooler in hot weather.

I just picked up a 1987 300E with 187k on it. Runs great, except the trans doesn't seem to want to shift into third. Reverse works fine, and I can drive in second, but that's it. Won't go into third whether it's in D or 3... Fluid is clean/proper level... is there a vacuum

Ok, I posted the cold start problem of my 93 190e 2.6. Since then I read that if you check the ohms arross the terminals of the cold start valve and get zero or infinity then the valve is bad. So I tested mine and I get the same reading as if I touched the two

I located a good used rear end differential (2000 C230) which I hope will work with my 1998 C230 (bad differential). Mine is a L4PFI DOHC 16V and the used one is LHFI (16 V???) (both made in Germany). Are they interchanagable/exactly the same or not? Neither are Kompressors. Was

Tried to get my torque converter drain to the six oclock position in a '83 300D. The girlfriend would bump the starter but the darn engine kept starting up. Major league frustration. What can I disconnect to keep the darn engine from starting?? I did not

Whilst attempting to open the bonnet of my E Class TD (1999), the plastic operating catch situated beneath the steering wheel snapped. On further examination the cable is visible (and accessible) but it can't be budged, presumably because the bonnet catch is broken/stuck.
