| R-134 | 09 Apr 2005 20:04 GMT | 12 |
I just called and ordered a 30# cyl of R-134 from my regular distributor. I was SHOCKED when I found out it cost $300.00. Last November I paid $69.00. What gives? $69 to $300 in 4 months sounds like a rip-off. What are other shops paying this year?

I know this is a Mercedes auto forum but I need some advice on a 240D in a marine application. We just purchased our boat with a marinized 240D. We were told that engine is a fresh rebuild with 10 hours but on the way down to south FLorida we burned about a quart of oil every 4 ...

A couple of years ago I was in Moscow, Russia on a business trip for a high level technology transfer. My Russian is quite rusty since I haven't used it since my teen years but it was my first language. According to the Russians, the more we drank the better my Russian got and ...

| shift weirdness | 08 Apr 2005 04:01 GMT | 3 |
Had some shifting difficulties with an '83 300D. Replaced the plastic shift arms. Now, shifting is erratic - sometimes perfect - sometimes rough. If I keep it floored, it's much, much smoother than if if I go easy.

I've been looking around your wonderful group for a while now and I'm now considering buying my first MBz. There's a nice one out here in Cinci that I'm going to look at today from a guy who's asking too much for it ($2900) especially with rust, etc.

Does anyone know where the connector(s) for the outside temp display plug in at? I saw a picture of the display and it showed to wire harnesses coming out of it with connectors at the end. My temp display doesn't work at all (the screen is blank) and I'm wondering if someone

| Losing heat at higher speeds in '80 500SE | 07 Apr 2005 04:00 GMT | 15 |
I found reference to this problem on another forum but no solutions so I hope someone here can help. Often ( but not always ) as soon as I get up to freeway speeds the heat stops and I get nothing but cold air coming into the car. Once I'm back into city driving it's as hot as ...

| Abuse? | 07 Apr 2005 02:19 GMT | 19 |
I have never put anything but premium octane in my 90 300CE per the owner's manual. Would it harm the engine to put in a lower octane? I have been reading up on this and am not quite convinced that it would be safe. Thoughts?

| 1998 C230 Rear End | 07 Apr 2005 01:16 GMT | 4 |
I may decide to start looking for a good used rear end as the pinion noise is starting to bother me even when I turn up the radio. Any ideas how I could find one? I could look at the wrecking yards in the area I suppose. I may try Swepco Moly Lube as a last resort before I start any

Can anyone help please? The cruise control on my 1982 380SL has quit working. When using the lever to activate, it will engage, but will not stay. It will accellerate as long as I hold the lever, but quits when I let go. Is this is something that is easily repaired or do I need ...

| Slight clunking noise in rear of 2001 E320 | 07 Apr 2005 00:20 GMT | 6 |
I purchased a 2001 E320 4matic with 12,619 miles on it in March and have been very happy with the purchase. Apparently, with all the things to absorb in a test drive I did not hear a slight clunking noise from the back. What is happening is if I am in traffic and I take my foot ...

1984 190D (201 chassis) I frequently see advice to "clean contacts" for windows that don't work, but with no instructions on how to do it. Can the rocker switches be pulled straight out using pliers?
