| Early shifing in 1980 240D -- no adjustment rod? | 04 May 2005 05:20 GMT | 2 |
I've only got a vacuum line running from on top of the valve cover down to the tranny. There is a rod that I thought led down to the tranny, on the throttle rod that twists, but that rod only goes down to a SPRING and the spring is connected to the body. It all looks way too ...

| O2 sensor voltage steady at 6.8V | 03 May 2005 23:35 GMT | 4 |
well, I found the O2 sensor on the '89 300E just behind the joining of the two exhaust pipes from the manifold..... tough to get at. I've meanwhile checked the output voltage from the sensor at the 9-pin connector on the fender. it remains 'steady' at about 6.8 V if I rev the ...

| smoking 1992 300SD | 03 May 2005 05:36 GMT | 11 |
My '92 300SD with 243,391 miles on it smokes escessively and uses LOTS of oil. After shutdown and sitting for awhile it belches alot of smoke on startup. I suspect valve guides/seals are worn enough to allow oil to enter cylinders and cause excessive smoke at startup. Woud a ...

| New fuel injectors '92 190E | 03 May 2005 03:02 GMT | 6 |
After 135,000 miles, I would like to renew my fuel injectors. For a DIYer how tough a job is it, on a 1 to 10 scale? I have just replaced plugs, wires, and distributor cap and rotor. How do I relieve pressure on fuel rail? Special tools? Cautions? Definitely replace O

| Airbag ComputerLocation W124 | 02 May 2005 17:55 GMT | 10 |
We've had a diagnosis of a dead airbag computer in our 1995 E320 Wagon. I've located a "replacement" from a "recycler" at 1/10th the dealer cost. (P/N 0008207226) I've read that these sensors are located beneath the radio on some

| Diesel models available to Canada | 02 May 2005 07:39 GMT | 3 |
Has Mercedes imported to Canada an all wheel drive (4-matic) diesel wagon with automatic transmission? If so, during which years, which model designations, etc. I now drive a 85 300D Turbodiesel for winter and daily commute (416K km) and 85 300SD Turbodiesel for summer and ...

I see that there are aluminum and steel hoods available for my car (1985 380SE). Which do I want? Any downside to the aluminum other than cost? I also see if I go with a new part there is only one choice. Anyone know if that choice is aluminum or steel? Also, anybody ever had

| Question on 85 300SD tranny... | 02 May 2005 00:57 GMT | 1 |
Are the bands replaceable without removing tranny/doing an overhaul? Is this something that a Sunday mechanic could handle or only for a pro? Also, I was told that this tranny cannot be power-flushed. Why not? Seems like any conventional tranny could be.
