I have had such good luck with the 5 cylinder turbodiesel on biodiesel that I am considering replacing the Dodge 440 in my motorhome, but I need more power than 3 liters. The chassis GW is 16000 lbs and I need an automtic transmission

| 190e 2.6 running hot a idle......is it a waterpump issue? | 28 May 2005 12:46 GMT | 6 |
Since the Temperature here is now around 80-85 I notice that the indicated temperatue creeps up whenever the car is subjected to long periods of idling at traffic lights with the AC on. Taking it out of gear and revving it up slightly to about 1200 rpm brings the temperature down ...

| Diesel More Expensive Than Gas | 28 May 2005 05:11 GMT | 9 |
We all thought diesel would remain cheaper than gasoline, but we were wrong. There goes one reason to own a diesel-powered car. But I haven't spoken with an old diesel Benz owner who was too pissed. The car's qualities still outweigh high diesel cost. Then I started

| R-134 conversion, should I be worried? | 28 May 2005 05:05 GMT | 7 |
My car (1985 380SE) was in an accident a little while ago (I'm sure you all remember). Anyways, as part of the repair they converted my A/C to R-134a. It was done by Griffin Bros (the body shop outsources the A/C work) and while the guy who did the conversion wasn't around, I'm ...

| C220 BRakes Rotor | 28 May 2005 03:48 GMT | 3 |
Has anyone noticed that the thickness of the vented brake rotor of the C220 has different plate thicknesses? The inner plate is much thinner than the outer plate. Are all MB's like this? MB told me that the reason for this is because the piston is only on one

| 300SD SERVICE MANUAL | 28 May 2005 01:14 GMT | 6 |
I've asked this question before, but I've never gotten an answer. What is a decent DIY-friendly service manual for a 1984 300SD? I'm looking on eBay, but I'm not finding anything decent-looking. I was told to stay away from Haynes and Chilton, but do I also stay away

| Feedback on SLK230s years 1998-2000 | 28 May 2005 00:12 GMT | 4 |
I'm working on a mid-life crisis and looks like I can afford an SLK230 between the years 1998 and 2000. My biggest concern is maintenance. I'm used to the cost of maintenance for american cars. (i.e. $25 for oil change, $150 per axle for for

| driveline vibration and brake replacement | 27 May 2005 16:12 GMT | 4 |
I have a 1985 380SE. I know that the front flex disk has some cracks in it. Could this be why when I accelerate hard I get a driveline vibration? I wouldn't ask as it seems rather obvious, only the vibration seems to be coming from the back of the car, so, can a cracked front ...

| Testing for difference between diesel and heating oil. | 27 May 2005 11:20 GMT | 22 |
In my area we sometimes get diesel oil delivered to homes as heating oil. Is there a way of knowing which is which? What properties of the heating oil can be damaging to my 300TD with 200,000 miles on it?

When operating the central looking the drivers side door door lock goes up and down like a machine gun before it eventually locks. The same happens when trying to open it, is the fault in door.

| Hard Starting 300D diesel | 27 May 2005 06:44 GMT | 11 |
My newly purchased '77 300D seems to be harder to start when it's warm than when it's cold. The glow plug light will go off after about two seconds but I have to crank at least 8 seconds before it catches when it's warm. It starts much faster when it cold. Sometimes there is a

| Help Needed With 1985 300SD Diagnosis | 27 May 2005 06:32 GMT | 13 |
Here's the scenario One morning my Ac/heater fan (blower motor) would not start. Checked out and found blown fuse to blower motor. Today I started out to the same situation , but when I went to replace the fuse it wasn't blown.

| 300SD biodiesel conversion | 27 May 2005 06:28 GMT | 19 |
Yet another quick question: I got restaurant connections and can get about a million gallons of peanut oil right NOW. I've learnt it is NOT the same as biodiesel fuel AND you have to filter the oil yourself, possibly convert your car.

| 1985 300D keeps running | 27 May 2005 06:14 GMT | 19 |
My brother in law has a 1985 300D that keeps running. I said the fuel pump must be getting power but he said it doesn't have an electric pump. He said there is a 'button to push' under the hood to stop the engine and that works but there must be a proper fix.
