Losing oil pressure when running hot27 May 2005 05:53 GMT10
I've got an ´85 280SE (w126 european model) with a injection 110 engine
with oil cooler.
When the engine is hot it has low oil pressure on idle.
That is - below 1 on the meter.

Need to find subj.  When searching, all I find is "remote car

BTW, do I have to go to Google Groups to post my messages?  I suspect

Hello all,  I keep eyeing my 'perfect' Pirelly P600 spare that is, however,
over 10 years old.  The conundrum is: To use or not to use.

Recommend MB?26 May 2005 17:36 GMT38
I'm considering buying either 2004 CLK500 or 2004 ES500 in the near future,
and it'll be my first Mercedes.  Just wanted all you guys' opinion about
Mercedes. Is it worth the money spent on an MB?  I kept hearing and reading
about MB many current owners having electrical problems ...
Regular Oil or Synthetic?  Which should I use26 May 2005 17:33 GMT7
I have a 1985 500SEL with 81,500 miles on it.  The car has always had regular
oil ran in it, but I thought of switching to Mobil 1 synthetic.  What is your
suggestions.  And, the owners manual states 87 octane gas, should I follow it,
or go with 92 octane?

300SD: water in tranny fluid, but not radiator?25 May 2005 21:17 GMT3
It is an 85 300 SD. The  trans fluid looks like strawberry milk shake.
I was toldin this NG  that this is the result of a leak of the trans.
oil cooler line within the radiator. So I replaced the radiator with a
new one, ----not rebuilt, a new one. I have now replaced trans oil six

Does anybody have first impressions about the "all new" 2006 ML350 or
ML500 SUVs? Would it be smarter to wait until next year to buy one?
Book about Mercedes 500E25 May 2005 14:32 GMT2
My husband is absolutely crazy about Mercedes 500E. I don't know
anything about cars so I was wandering if some of you knew some really
good books about Mercedes 500E or about Mercedes W124 that I could
offer him for Father's day. Thanks in advance.
External trans. oil cooler for 300SD?25 May 2005 14:28 GMT11
What type of external oil cooler do I need to get for an 85 300SD?
If I remember correctly, they connect to the oil cooler lines with
rubber hoses and clamps, so I guess the only issue with compatibility
is if the rubber lines have the correct ID for the 300SD's cooler
Climate control '81 300D25 May 2005 07:35 GMT3
Saw a recent post regarding climate control problem on '80 to '85 300Ds.
Hope the same experts are still around.
Problem: AC has been converted to R134a and works fine at idle and slow rpm,
just as it did with R12 refrigerant. However, anything much past idle and it
