1990 420SEL ---- It's 90 degrees --- With the A/C on, the temperature at the
driver's side vent (58) is about 10 degrees cooler than the center (68) and
possibly the passenger side vent. The mono valve appears to work normally.

I pulled over on the shoulder and tried to restart, no way. I cranked

car. What will this hurt? It is controlled through the ignition switch. What

Hi,  I have just had a head gasket set replaced on my 1996 C220 (Petrol.
The gasket set was replaced by consulting the actual mercedes data book
however since the gaskets have been replaced 2 Camshafts have broken
within 2/3 days?  Does anyone know why it is doing this ??

I need to remove the crankshaft damper and the manual calls for a "detent"
tool [only available from MB for over $300] to lockdown the crank so the
front bolt can be loosened to remove the damper assembly.
Having not done this before, not being a mechanic, I still have enough

Hullo,
I've got a W124 which when idling sounds and feels like it will stall.  My
mechanic says "it's typically mercedes" and suggests a gasoline additive.
Any suggestions?

   The outside temperature readout on my 2002 E320CDI instrument panel has
gone blank - the readout has disappeared!
I thought it must be the bulb(s) and pulled the instrument panel out only to
find that the bulbs are fine - I even swapped them with those in the clock
