Roadside Assistance question27 Mar 2006 21:53 GMT20
We are newbies to MB and had a flat tire on the freeway some 30 miles from
home. I couldn't get in touch with my usual contact and called the MB
Roadside Assistance number.  They were there in about 10 minutes from some
distance away.
'89 300E Accelerator stops responding intermittently...27 Mar 2006 17:29 GMT6
Hello all,  I am having a strange problem with my trusty old 300E.
When driving down the road, every so often, the car will stop
responding to accelerator inputs.  It seems like it dies, but
everything is on, and I can see the "economy" needle respond to the gas

Anyone know where I can get a 1991 W126 350 SD motor?

I need the whole thing!
Thanks!
Oil pan smashed27 Mar 2006 13:41 GMT3
Yesterday I smashed the oil pan of my 1993 190E 2.6 against
a concrete median strip.  The pan is torn wide open on one side near the
bottom and the oil is gone.
Lots of traffic and no place to get off the road--I wasn't able to get
Vito Rev Limiters?26 Mar 2006 19:56 GMT2
I have a problem with my Vito. For no reason the engine will suddenly only
rev to 3000 revs and will go no further. If I turn off the engine and
restart, the engine is normal but not always. Any ideas?
Terminology confusion26 Mar 2006 17:18 GMT8
Until recently, in my understanding,
"Merc" stood for "Mercury",
an obviously inferior product.
But since the term is used frequently on this ng, I wonder if it might
losing hydraulic oil in 87 300TD26 Mar 2006 11:16 GMT5
I just had the whole suspension replaced about 3 weeks ago in LA.  I
haven't been watching the fluid level so I don't know how long it has
been leaking  but the reservoir is completely empty and I am leaving
Seattle for home on Monday.
Can anyone explain this?26 Mar 2006 02:26 GMT1
1984 300SD
I had the fuel pump rebuilt because performance was degrading.
Immediately, the car had a squeal accompanied by a slight loss of power
at cruising equilibrium (cruising without acceleration or deceleration).

Headlight Electrical Question25 Mar 2006 00:51 GMT10
The right headlight on my 300D 2.5 keeps going out.  The
bulb is fine.  The cause seems to be that the plug which
the bulb plugs into has rust in its slots.  I can get the
headlight to work for several days by working the bulb's

300 SD ignition switch frozen24 Mar 2006 15:32 GMT6
84  300SD.
Ignition switch worked just fine for 20 years. Today, it will not turn.
Does not feel funny and gave no warning. I am told that I need to get it
to turn just one more time so the lock can be changed easily. If not,

Does this make any sense?23 Mar 2006 17:01 GMT9
Well I towed my car to the mechanic and he looked at the car and started it
up and stated that the reason why the car is running for a few minutes and
cutting out is because there is a decent amount of gas mixed with the oil.
Since I changed the oil last June, he said the rings are ...
