Running Hot07 Sep 2006 16:41 GMT3
I have a 1987 W126 with 60K miles and I am a little concerned. The
temperature gauge indicates about halfway between 80 and 100 which I
imagine is 90. My previous experience with MBs was that the gauge never
got in that range unless sitting in traffic on a hot day.  Weather has
1976 280E leaking Water07 Sep 2006 09:49 GMT6
I have a recently purchased 280E 1976 RHD. I noticed after some heavy
rain (I live in Ireland so this will be a regualr occurance) that the

I have read some previous threads on this and I have been checking

Anyone drive a B200? Impressions?06 Sep 2006 22:25 GMT19
seems my wife being ever practical appears to like this model the most.  On
the positive side, if I must have an automatic, then at least this model has
one of the continuously variable one.... that's got to help on consumption.
I'm wondering though if the turbo is even worthwhile ...
2002 C230 Kompressor  Signal Lights..06 Sep 2006 14:55 GMT2
Has any one noticed that the lights on these cars seem to burn
frequently?
I've replaced 3 turn signals and two break lights in the past three
months...
ATF Specs06 Sep 2006 13:50 GMT1
The transmission fluid on my 230E W124 with 145.000 km, has never been
changed.
MB's ATF costs USD 33 a quarter gallon, at the dealer.
Is it too much?
Engine Noise06 Sep 2006 06:26 GMT4
I have a 1977 300D with 319,000 miles (50K on the rebuilt engine) that
I have owned for about 6 months. I love the car!!
My problem is an engine noise that comes and goes intermittently. At
idle it makes a "chirping" sound like a metallic cricket. Sometimes
vacuum line blues 300D05 Sep 2006 21:59 GMT4
I am trying to locate a vacuum leak on my 85 300D. I've isolated it to
one of three hoses that go into the firewall. Two are yellow and attach
to a yellow plastic piece just before the wall. the other is red and
looks a lot like the one that comes out of the firewall and goes to the
86 300E Blue smoke out intake, won't start...05 Sep 2006 14:51 GMT10
Engine turns over but doesn't start, then blue smoke exhausts out the
air intake. I've never seen this happen before. Anyone have any idea
what this could be?

Experiences with Oil & Lube Express Shops?04 Sep 2006 21:23 GMT5
I understand that these are independently owned, but since I no longer wish
to bring my MB (2000 ML320) into the dealer for an oil change, any
recommendations? Anything specific (other than synthetic oil) I should ask
for in the way of specific types of filters or servicing ...
Transmisson fluid04 Sep 2006 20:46 GMT21
I have a 2003 MB E-230 with 30,000 miles on it.  I would like to change
transmission oil (I assume there is a drain plug) and I was looking in
the owners manual and it calls for MB part no. 001 989 21 03 10
transmission fluid.  Is that a "special" MB oil or will other
81 300TD Intermittent fan04 Sep 2006 18:39 GMT6
Hello!  I have a problem that seems to be getting worse over time:  My fan
doesn't always come on when I push the climate control buttons.  I thought
it was only in the hotter weather, but now the same thing is happening,
even though it's cooler.  When the fan DOES work, it's strong ...

'81 300D water on floor04 Sep 2006 13:07 GMT1
Still looking for the solution to the water collecting on the rear driver's
side floorboard after running the A/C. I know this is condensed water from
the evaporator but need to know just where the drain tube is located so I
can either redirect it or unplug it if that's the ...
