Using that spare tire30 Nov 2006 23:36 GMT2
well this might be of interest to some of you.  Ever wonder re that brand
new spare tire in the trunk (boot?) and replacing it with a worn one and
fianlly getting some use out of the new one?  Wonder no more.  I did just
that and what I observed was the following.  There was no ...

300SDL W126 Front Suspension Noise when hitting sharp bumps.29 Nov 2006 21:05 GMT3
Is anyone familiar with the front suspension on the W126 chassis
vehicles? I have an 86 300SDL with a VERY loud "clunk" that occurs
only when hitting a pothole or a joint in the concrete or pavement.
Only quick up and down movements of the front, driver's side wheel
leather care recommendation?29 Nov 2006 21:02 GMT8
What are you using for leather care? There are many leather care
products. And then, some never use any leather care. Leather is a
live product (I guess technically that is a dead product, the skin of
dead animals!) and it needs periodic cleaning and nourishment.
Block Heater trouble29 Nov 2006 20:57 GMT3
I have an 83 300SD, and when I plug in the block heater, it trips the GFI
outlet that I have it plugged in to.  I know it is neither the cord or the
outlet that is the problem.  Thanks for the help!
1983 300SD29 Nov 2006 20:51 GMT10
I'm considering buying a 1983 300SD with 127,000 miles. The asking
price is $3500. Does this sound like a fair price? I'm going to have
the car inspected by a mechanic and also get a carfax report for the
car. What are the most important things to consider about the car
Power Loss + Transmission "jumpy"29 Nov 2006 20:44 GMT3
I just bought an '81 300SD turbodiesel (~200k miles) and the
acceleration is slow and power is ridiculously low.  I suspected the
injector heads + fuel lines were dirty and built-up, so i did a diesel
purge (using lubroMoly) and replaced both fuel filters.  Power or
116 Speedometer Howling29 Nov 2006 20:38 GMT6
Yesterday I drove the old 300SD to San Francisco. When I started on the
freeway the speedometer suddenly started howling - definitely speed
related - howl suddenly starts at 25 mph and increases from there. It's
definitely the cable end or the bearing into the speedometer.
Cup Holders? Aftermarket? 1991 300TDT29 Nov 2006 10:41 GMT6
Hi I brought in a 1991 300TDT from Germany for my wife, and she is
missing having cup holders. Anyone have any suggestions, experience,or
recommendations regarding a workable cup holder set-up for this car?
Thanks
Keyless Entry29 Nov 2006 09:53 GMT1
My keyless entry stopped working on my 96 E320.  In the past I would get
the red and green blinking lights that told me the battery was low on the
key, but I didn't get that this time.  I replaced the batteries anyway, and
it still doesn't work.  Anyone know the problem?  Is ...
using bulbs with different current29 Nov 2006 09:42 GMT6
If I replace my 6w sidelights with longer life LED bulbs taking a few
milliamps, presumably the ship-board computer will think the bulbs have
blown and will continue to annoy me by saying so every time I turn them on.
Is there a way to tell the computer to expect low current drain ...
Most People Will Never Know About Biodiesel29 Nov 2006 09:31 GMT3
What kind of difference can the use biodiesel make when it comes to
changing the world for the better? Perhaps the biggest impact of the
use of biodiesel fuel instead of just plain diesel is on the human
health and the environment.
W210 Starting Problem28 Nov 2006 03:52 GMT3
The car has always started and ran fine. I drove it this morning and
parked it for lunch. After lunch, I got in to start it and it just
cranked and cranked. It doesn't start. The car is a 99 E55. Is there a
couple obvious places to look for a master control fuse or something
Replace Hydromatic worn shocks with regular shocks28 Nov 2006 03:28 GMT14
I have a 86 560SEL and need to replace the shocks.  Rear are Hydromatic
and expensive to replace.  Any downside to replacing them with OEM
conventional shocks?
thanks
190d 2.2 reconstruction27 Nov 2006 21:23 GMT7
I recently purchased a 201 chassis 190d.
Everything is in need of maintenance, and lots of things are
