I need to replace the oxygen sensor before the cat, is it actually located
in the exhaust just before the cat or should I look elsewhere?
Thanks,

Replacing Tie Rods & Drag Link On A 10721 Nov 2006 14:46 GMT4
My 380sl just failed inspection because a couple of the tie rod ends
and drag link had an excessive amount of play. So i was thinking about
replacing  both tie rods, rather than just the ends, and the drag
link.
old SL advice needed21 Nov 2006 07:05 GMT4
I've always loved the Mercedes SL series cars.
Recently an 83 380SL has come up for sale by me.  It's black/gray with
125,000 miles. Looks very clean in the pictures i've seen.  Having never
owned an old Merc before, would this be a car I could use everyday? When I
Is 3.0 liter OK in place of 2.6 in 190E?21 Nov 2006 06:55 GMT3
I have to put a new engine in my 1993 190E 2.6 automatic.  (This is a
U.S. car.) Someone suggested that I put a 3.0 in place of the original
2.6.  Given that they are essentially the same engine, the suggestion
didn't sound bad.
Mercedes S500 200021 Nov 2006 05:38 GMT7
I have a Mercedes Benz S500 year 2000.
One day when I tried to turn on the cruise control, it did not work.
I tried all sorts of positions the cruise handle could go but it did
not work
195/65/15 vs 185/65/15 winters on 190E21 Nov 2006 05:16 GMT16
I've got to put some new winter tires on my 190E .... it uses 185/65/15
tires .... however, been thinking of using 195/65/15 because these will also
be good on my 300E in future.... will the slightly wider tires be OK on the
190E?  or would the slightly narrower tires be better on ...

Glow Plug Relay 300 TDT20 Nov 2006 02:25 GMT2
Can the glow plug relay become partially defective, or is an all or
none type of part?
I could not get my '82 300 TDT to start.  I replaced the battery and
the glow plugs and it was still starting hard.  I noticed that if I
Did my own brake job today-C230 199818 Nov 2006 21:07 GMT1
Happy with how well the job went for me. Was a little
apprehensive...not knowing what to expect. Rotors were pretty worn
down..close to 10 mm minimums (87K miles) so decided to install new
rotors. Also decided on new bearings (inside and outside)...the outside
Siphoning Oil Question18 Nov 2006 20:59 GMT7
I was just wondering if any oil siphon systems, like the Topsider or
LiquidVac, can get the oil out of the filter cannister on a 380sl. Or
will i still have that potential mess to deal with.
Thanks
