Hi gotta a160 1999 model and i’ve got a fuel smell intermittant. I’ve

Recently I've noticed a ringing noise coming from somewhere
in the rear of my '87 300SDL at freeway speeds.  It's espec-
ially evident when I turn an ear toward the back seat area.
I thought it might be a dragging brake, but applying the brakes

I noticed my wife's fuel line was leaking down where it goes into the frame
under where the back seat is....is there any way to get a better look to see
the leak..like under the seat perhaps..thier is no way to see up inside from
under the car ....

My 1999 C280 has started consuming oil.  It has just over 118,000 miles and
up until this point never used any oil between changes.  It now uses about 1
quart every 500-600 mile when on highway trips only.  It doesn't consume oil
during normal daily driving.  I can drive it daily ...

Is there an easy way to determine if the problem is electrical (switch)
or if it is a bad motor?
Also, is there a trick to get inside door panel off to get to the
window motor and assembly?

I am troubleshooting a leak in the locking system. Where is the 4 way
connector that leads to the three door actuators?

When I press the button on the keyfob the car will lock but the alarm
will not engage as the Red & Green light on thr rear view mirror flash
simeltaneously. The only way to stop them flashing is to turn on the
engine, then turn it off again immediately.

One of the great things I got for Christmas was a book about
the Mercedes SL's (thanks Jesse!). It covers 230,250,280,
350, and 450 SL and SLC cars. It also talks about the 300 and 190SL
briefly.

My 1997 300D has difficulty starting when the tank is half a tank full or
less. Is there a problem with the fuel pump or pickup? It doesn't matter
what the temperature is outside for this to happen. It starts just fine when
the tank has more than half full.

For a long time now the tachometer on my 300 TDT works intermittently.
When it does work, it works perfectly.  Sometimes it will work for
hours, sometimes it will not work for hours, sometimes it will work for
just a few minutes and then stay dead for a long time and vice versa.
