I have a 2003 E500. I'm due for my next service soon according to the
maintenance minder system on the car. It says service G is due. I'll have
approx 47000 miles when due.
Does anyone know what is done or specified for this service? Have you had
1986 300E leaking steering box.20 Dec 2006 02:59 GMT2
I have a leaking steering box( at the steering column end) . My repair
manual says leave it to an MB dealer but has instructions for removal. I can
get a complete set of seals for about $15 and a rebuilt box for $400. My
skill level is that in the past I have rebuilt a Fiat Uno ...
ALERT - Google is tracking our posting activity, both here and other venues.20 Dec 2006 02:18 GMT6
Google, which I use daily for searches, has a Beta Usenet type site in
which our posts here are compiled with our posts to other Usenet sites.
So one can rather quickly see what someone is about, just by looking at
his or her Google assembled Usenet posting summary.

Hi,   I have a 85 300 td wagon that we converted about 4 months ago to

weather set in and things got a little iffy.................So now we
have figured out the problem with the veggie system and now it is
96 E320 Mass Air Sensor...19 Dec 2006 19:45 GMT2
Regular readers of this group might remember I had a problem with this unit
a while back, I ended up buying a replacement sensor "insert" from German
Star in Arizona. Unfortunately the first one didn't work, neither did the
second replacement unit, so I gave up and went and ...
Re: engine sputters19 Dec 2006 11:19 GMT1
i have a ’75 450se that sputters and once in awhile will just die.
Tried to restart but no go. Had to have it towed to a mechanic, and he
told me that the points in the distributor had fused together. He
cleaned them and adjusted the timing and the car ran great for 3 days.
No acceleration Position sensor19 Dec 2006 02:14 GMT9
... continuing trouble shooting of why my '89 sometimes just cuts out. Then
accelerates perfectly again.  I'd like to check my crankshaft position
sensor as 'one' possible reason for this.  Where the heck is it exactly?
Hate crawling around under the car in winter.
'82 300CD-T - Stalling on Startup18 Dec 2006 04:27 GMT3
My 82 300CD-T takes a few cranks to spark up when cold, which doesn't
strike me as strange, but it sometimes stalls after starting. I don't
have any scientific evidence, but it seems to happen when the car has
been sitting in the sun for a while, rather than when it's cold out. It

W126 Front Suspension Rebuilding18 Dec 2006 04:15 GMT1
I want to rebuild the front end on my 1986 Mercedes 300SDL. I would
like to replace all bushings, ball joints, shocks, track rod
bearings/rubber etc....
I do not want to replace control arms etc - just install new bushings
fuel pressure18 Dec 2006 02:28 GMT18
i tested the fuel pressure at the fuel regulator and can only get a reading
of 30 to 32 lbs no matter where i turn the screw. i guess this means the
regulator is bad? can low fuel pressure cause flooding?
FUEL: Premium or Reg. 1992 300E 112,000 mi.?17 Dec 2006 23:59 GMT2
Premium is recommended for this vehicle. I keep the car the best I can
with regular oil change every 3,000 mile and it is in excellent shape.
So should I mess with regular gas....Premium cost a fortune!

240d central locks17 Dec 2006 14:08 GMT1
Started investigating a vacuum leak. I had temporarily plugged the yellow
tube in the engine compartment until I found it. I checked all the lock
modules and there is no dramatic leak. I was going to attempt applying
vacuum at the driver door valve but the diagram I have doesn't ...
