Can't turn key in ignition on '86 190d28 Feb 2007 04:02 GMT6
Does anyone have experience replacing the ignition switch (actually
the ignition lock cylinder) on a mid-80's Mercedes? I understand most
eventually lock up due to wear and tear and it is not a rare
occurance. Mine locked up yesterday without warning. I need to make
1984 Mercedes 500 SEL Exhaust27 Feb 2007 21:42 GMT3
I was wondering, how hard would it be to buy exhuast parts online and
then put them all together and on the car? My  exhaust on my car is
toast. Literally everything has holes in it, except the manifolds I
think. I got a quote from the muffler guys around here, it was like

Hi all,
just bought a 1993 300D 2.5 turbo, very nice car. only 155K miles. my
only doubt: it starts up perfect, even at 5F ambient temp., without
hesitation, then runs for about 2 minutes smooth, no smoke, and THEN
bought a 560SEL27 Feb 2007 02:12 GMT3
1991, beautiful car, 118k.  white /tan interior.  $3k  Went with the
560 due to my experience with my 300SD and 240D.  Love thes older
cars!  I absolutely hate those "check engine" lights on newer
cars.     I think the sensors go bad, not the component the sensor
79 300TD 123 auto trans?27 Feb 2007 01:20 GMT10
The 79 300TD sedan i picked up has a funny problem with the automatic
transmission. The manual on CD I received last week is a Mitchell, nowhere
near as useful as a factory manual, but cheap.
The transmission, when first put into 'Drive' takes up to a minute to

Not many M-Bs, but it just goes to show, sometimes the urban legends are

Can anyone please help?
The ignition key won't turn in the ignition barrel (it is not a steering
lock problem), apparently the barrel is faulty.
I would change the barrel but to do so I must get the key to turn to

1976 MB 300D 4 door.  Key will turn trunk button, hear a 'click' when
trunk button is depressed, but trunk will not open.  Is there a
particular way of opening trunk that I am not getting?  Would like to

still low pressure25 Feb 2007 15:06 GMT6
My 73 450sl has a new fuel pump and pressure regulato and i still only have
40lbs instead of 80. It stil floods out. Can a leaky injector cause low
fuel pressure? Or the intank screen, do you have to remove the tank?
Thank you for your input
