the driver door latch assy is bad as per the mechanic.  mechanic says

I think I may have a glow plug out.  I have an '83 300sd, and I have some odd
colored smoke.  It smells like biodiesel, and I think maybe a cylinder is out?
How do I test the plugs, and wires?

Odd air conditioning behaviour30 Jul 2007 04:51 GMT3
The A/C on my '95 E320 has started to act up a bit.  The compressor shuts
down if it is parked for a while in a hot location or if it has to sit for a
while at a stop light when it is hot outside.  If I then drive for a few

Looking buying at a clean 1990 560 SEL with 140 k miles on it. Are these
cars reliable after this much time ? ( I know the mileage is "low")   What

Here is one that has stumped my mechanic.. (he refuses to charge me if he
can't solve the problem, but he has run out of ideas and apparently, spare
time :-))

are not working.  I checked the fuses, the rheostat in the dash is
OK.  Speedometer is also OK, as well as clock and other gauges.  Radio

Wheel Offset27 Jul 2007 18:55 GMT9
probably stupid question, but I don't know exactly what a Wheel Offset is
all about.  Most, if not all, MB wheels have a 5 bolt pattern at 112 mm.  The   bolt sizes vary, the older being a couple or so mm smaller than the newer so
that one has to be careful of the bolt 'seating' ...
No power steering after adjusting steering play27 Jul 2007 16:54 GMT7
I finally got around to adjusting my steering play this weekend on my
84 300D. I backed the allen screw out until it started to get harder,
then screwed it back in an eighth of a turn. I got in, turned the
ignition on, but didn't start the engine, and sawed away at the
'82 240d moon roof27 Jul 2007 05:03 GMT4
Does anyone know how I can close the moon roof since the gearbox for
the electric motor is slipping internal? I tried to remove the drive
rod from the gearbox to manually turn but rod would not come out. Is
there a trick of some kind?? Thanks.
