I love those giant boxes of steel and am looking into buying one.
Coudl anyone tell me things to look for in terms of reliability
issues. They are old cars, and as well built as they were, there have
to be soime problems with them. Thanks in advance.

Thanks to who have replied to my previous posts/questions.
I have been driving the 230CE with a 190E 2.3 engine transplant around town
this week. It starts, idles,and runs great. It does have a bit of a hot
start problem but I think that I can control this by holding the gas pedal

I have my 500 SEC for 2 Years and she always started.Sometimes I had to
recharge Battery but she started no Problem.until recently.I connected
re-charged Battery.She starts ok but after 2 seconds engine stops.I hear
the Fuelpump priming when I turn Ignition on.I changed Fuelpump ...

Our 1996 Mercedes C 250 single arm wiper has intermittently over 4 years
operated with difficulty. It struggles, almost stalls at two points across
the windscreen - appear to coincide when the blade arm performs its cunning
extention and withtraction trick.

After removing the hoses, lossening the shroud, and popping the clips

 Some of you may remember that my starter began to operate intermittently.
I checked it 'repeatedly' myself, took it repeated to a Car part place where
they tested it on a maching (presumably measuring the current draw) the
starter worked flawless.... I took it apart to make sure ...

Once warmed up, the vacuum gauge moves off the peg about halfway to the red
when the car is put in gear and idles rough. Runs OK on the road.
Does this sound like a vacuum leak? Could it have to do with the vacuum
modulator on the transmission?
