| Tachometer Problem, not RPM sensor | 11 Sep 2007 17:24 GMT | 7 |
My tachometer in my 1982 300 TDT is not working. I have replaced the RPM sensor, but this does not seem to be the problem. I have two of them now and it works pretty much the same with the guaranteed good junkyard one and also the brand new VDO one.

Can anyone confirm that the idle speed on a '95 C180 is around 1400rpm for 14 seconds before dropping back to 700rpm when sitting at a stop light etc. During the first few minutes after starting, the idle speed settles down

The front left turn signal has failed. Actually, this happened once before and I changed the bulb. The problem went away. I checked the old bulb and it was good measured 1/2 ohm like the new one. It failed again today. I checked the bulb and holder. There was continuity

I bought a 1984 190d benz from a guy who tried to change the timing chain. He got it partially done and messed up. He thinks the chain is right now, but gave up and sold it to me. Are there some timing marks I can check to make sure it is right. And

| Timing Chain Rails | 04 Sep 2007 22:19 GMT | 2 |
Well I got the timing cover off and inspected the rails. They are worn, but strangely, none of them are broken, and too my knowledge there all there. Anyone got a diagram of the assembly? I could really use a repair manual as well for this car, if anyone has

| Remanufactured Engine from Metric Motors Makes 1982 300 TDT like new! | 04 Sep 2007 14:50 GMT | 9 |
I have my remanufactured engine from Metric Motors in the car and running good. My 1982 300 TDT has never run this good since I got it. It had 144,000 miles on it when I bought it in 1993. The remanufactured engine runs great. It has a solid, even smooth feel as

| 84 300D Auto tranny problem | 04 Sep 2007 03:04 GMT | 2 |
In Park the car does not hold. It will roll and click. Searching past posts it sounds like I need to take it to a transmission place. Is it possible to replace the tranny or is it a small repair? And how much do you think it would cost? Thanks

| Odometer- Mercedes 206E | 03 Sep 2007 16:00 GMT | 3 |
The odometer on my 1988 260E has suddenly stopped dead. Has anyone had this problem? Is is a simple thing like a cable or fuse - or has the whole unit just died with age as I suspect?

Im having trouble removing the timing cover on my 500 SEL. I have removed everything on the front of the car, taken off all the bolts for the cover. I even loosened the 3 closest head bolts closest to the front of the car, as well as the oil pan bolts, but I still can't seem

I am considering buying a 560SEC and was wondering what pitfalls there are with these cars... ie engines/suspensions etc. I own a 300SD so am familiar with the general stuff on these 126 series cars... Thanks for any advice

| Parking Brake | 02 Sep 2007 08:43 GMT | 3 |
1984 300D Turbo. I've adjusted the star wheels on the parking brake, but pedal still has too much travel. Where is the next adjustment? SPECIFIC location for cable or foot pedal adjustments would be appreciated.

| 500 sel gone | 01 Sep 2007 03:37 GMT | 6 |
Well Im done with my 500 SEL. The timing chain jumped and bent a few valves, and I dont (cant afford) to fix it, so Im going to part it out. The transmission is good, really didnt have any problems with it, the fluid was pink and no metal shavings when I changed it this week.
