I hear a vibration only when I put the car in drive and reverse only. What

211 frt battery alternate21 Dec 2007 15:31 GMT4
Anybody know of a decent alternative to the front battery for an 03 E500.It
looks like a typical motorcycle battery. Something that should be in the
$40-60 range, not the $100 plus dealers want.
What's the purpose of the battery in front? What does the rear battery do?
Interference engines21 Dec 2007 13:42 GMT12
Can anyone confirm that ALL modern (post 1995) MB petrol engines
should be described as 'interference' engines?

98 E320 AWD, steering wheel vibrate/shaking at 60 mph19 Dec 2007 03:10 GMT5
This E320 was my wife car, I took it over last week.
I mounted 2 Firestone all season tires on the front and 2 Firestone snow
tires on the back wheels.
The steering wheel is shaking a little bit when speed reaches over 60-70

1981 300SD & 1979 240D power sunroof problem17 Dec 2007 07:44 GMT1
I have both cars and they both share the same problem, worse on the
300SD. The power sunroof opens very slowly and closes slower, and
getting even slower with time. We're talking slow! I'm almost afraid
to open them now for fear they won't close again. I have no experience
1997 E42017 Dec 2007 05:39 GMT4
I test drove a used 1997 E420 Today.  This car is loaded with all
options available.  It has the traction control feature also.  It
seemed as though when I stepped on the gas there was a bit of a lag in
acceleration.  Is this normal due to the traction control system being
S550 Facelift coming soon?16 Dec 2007 19:28 GMT5
Does anyone know when the current S550 will get a facelift?  Also, will an
S450 version be coming to the US?
My lease (2005 S430) expires September 2008 and am thinking of switching to
current S550 early or should I wait if an S450 will be available in US or
Door handle15 Dec 2007 23:40 GMT1
I HAVE A 89' 560 SEL. The problem that I have now is the door handle
(outside) behind the drivers door. I tried one day to open the door and the
handle wouldn't work. The inside door opener works fine. Now, is it pretty
straight forward to replace this door handle? Is there ...

I have a 1988 420 SEL. Upon changing the plugs, the passenger side were all in good condition, BUT all four dirver's side were very foulded up. The scope check seemed normal, all pistons firing. My mechanic said it is not the fuel distributor (?) but could need rings replace Ouch ...

compression  test through GPs or injectors?14 Dec 2007 06:25 GMT8
I'm going to do a compression test on my 1984 300sd
to get a baseline before converting my car to run on
veggie oil.  I'll check it regularly to see if the veggie
oil is screwing up the engine and post the results online.
