'brake lining wear' warning is gone. I also noted 3 or 4 times the check
lamps' warning message and when I checked it indeed, a right stop bulb
did light. However later on it started working again, so it can not ...

I just drove home about 35 miles doing 70 mph on the freeway.  The gauge
never got above 60C, the weather here is 52F = 11C

How many belts should the alternator have on a '79 300D? I thought
two, but in starting to replace the belts today, I discovered one (1).
If this should have two, then I may need to change alternators?
Do all the belts have to come off to change the alt. and steering?

I plan to change my front pads soon.  I have been following the threads on
the type of pads.  I may do my rotors as well.  I know the rotors were
changed about 100,000 miles ago, at 150,000.  I think I have gotten about
100,000 miles out of these pads. I don't think I have ...

Although this has been covered extensively, I want to clarify some
information from earlier posts.
My understanding is, that if you have the "loop type" (older) glow
plugs, AND your glow plug light comes on, then ALL of you glow plugs

This bites my butt...the header pipe broke at the
downstream end of the flex pipe and the damned
thing looks brand new. Muffler shop and my indy MB
guy says they can't be fixed.

This is just informational, not a problem per se:
I have a '79 240D, '82 300TD, and '81 300SD. They are all quirky in
their own ways but there is one common quirk I've always been curious
about. If you turn the key to crank the engine and it doesn't start

When starting my car (2003 E500 Sport) I've twice let go of the key too
quickly, the car doesn't start and the gauge says malfunction. Both times
I've felt that I let go of the key just as the starter solenoid activated
but I don't think the starter has yet to turn. At that point ...

I have a MB 190e 2.3, 1988. Whenever it is humid (Rain for a few days, when
I go to the carwash...) The wiper turns on as soon as I turn on the
headlights, even with the wiper switch set to off. After a few days of heat,
the problem stops until it gets humid again.

I finally got around to checking the compression on my 1984 300SD.
400 in all cylinders with 100 or 125 on the first crank for all of
'em.
I guess that's pretty good. The engine has 215K on it.

mono wiper on my 1999 c230k stopped sweeping halfway across screen....
I found platic gear in the windscreen wiper motor is stripped
... is this replaceable/repairable or need new motor??
Is this common problem?
