I just bought a 1989 Mecedes 147000 miles on it Very clean car runs well so far but it shifts a bit hard from 1st to 2nd gear. Is that normal? Also- where should the Temp gauge stabilize after warm up in summer

| running the 300E cold | 30 Jul 2008 23:35 GMT | 1 |
I notice that my 1989 300E gets warm very quickly. In about a half mile the temp gauge is already passed 40 but it does stabilize around 80 or alittle above that. Is that normal? Can I get a thermastat that opens at a lower temp so it runs cooler. I’m not familiar with

| 1991 190 E 2.3 - low on gas = hesitation | 30 Jul 2008 03:32 GMT | 1 |
I have a great '91 190 E - just had a head gasket put in, 89K- beautiful shape. When the gas gets to about 1/4 full, it starts hestitating after stopping- then gets worse as it gets lower on gas until it stalls out at every stop.

| Radio | 29 Jul 2008 18:25 GMT | 2 |
I can only hear my radio when I open the door. The radio works but the sound in the driver side speakers is on and off. I was told that this happens a lot in European designed cars which is solace. Has anyone else had this problem? Is it a dealer only repair? Any

| Mercedes Ignition Keys | 27 Jul 2008 17:20 GMT | 2 |
My wife's key recently stopped working on our '99 E320 wagon and, after trying a new battery in the fob with no success, we purchased a new key from the dealer. Subsequently I've heard that these keys usually don't break or wear out, but that they 'time out', i.e., they only ...

| 1980 300SD radiator leak/aux fan? | 26 Jul 2008 08:02 GMT | 1 |
I think I have a very small leak in my radiator, probably at the bottom, not at hose connections. It is losing a small amount of coolant, maybe 2 qts a month. I think I can see what appears to be a wet spot at the bottom of the radiator, but no actual drips.
