I have a chance to purchase a 1993 300e 4dr sedan that is in great shape
interior and exterior wise; however, it has a leaking head gasket. I think
that I can get it for under $1K, and do the work myself...what are your
thoughts on this?

Our dealer can't handle our oil change for us, so I undertook to do it
myself.  I've removed the belly pan, drained the oil,
and........................I can't find the filter.  Anyone know where it
is?

Oil Recommendation13 Aug 2008 18:54 GMT11
Any advice on what weight oil to run in a 300SDL with 355,000 miles?
I have seen internet postings of people running 15w40, but their
mileage is lower than more so i didn't know if that was still a good
weight to be using at 365k mi.

2002 C240 Rust11 Aug 2008 15:03 GMT3
There were two small (1-2 mm wide) rust spots on the car. One on the
driver door and other on the driver side rear fender (above the
wheel). I took it to dealer who sent me to the MB body shop. They
agreed to fix it although car just went out of warranty.

to drop the suspension to do this which is a problem since I’m working
with a jack and stands. Any suggestions/tips how I might be able to
