I  have a 1989 560 SEL. The car is running really rough. It really shows up
if car is stopped for a red light or traffic. I'm afraid she'll leave me in
traffic. It says in the owners manual that if the car runs rough (shaking)
at lights or low speed (TRAFFIC FOR ME) it's the ...

Off Topic: How do you access alt.autos.mercedes?06 Oct 2008 10:27 GMT10
On October 25 my "friendly" ISP, Comcast, is dropping free UseNet
access. That's how I access alt.auto.mercedes so, unless I can find
another access route, I will be saying "sayonara" to you wrench pullers.
Alt.auto.mercedes is the only NG that I access so a pay NG service is a
300D Transmission problems06 Oct 2008 05:37 GMT4
84 300D 280k miles on it.
The transmission has been acting up, and now it will only shift at
redline. I changed the fluid and filter a couple of weeks ago (per
Tiger's advice to everyone with transmission troubles), and while it

abs / 4matic question05 Oct 2008 20:25 GMT2
I have a 91 300te (proble)matic, are the abs and 4matic systems working
independently of each other?  I have funky abs feelings at low speeds
and also at moderate speeds, not when braking.  If I turn off the 4matic
the symptoms seem to disappear.
Mercedes control lights/switches05 Oct 2008 15:25 GMT1
Is there any information out there on the controls for a 1988 420 SE for this? My car was made to sell in Germany or Japan only, and I live in Canada. The dash is really confusing to say the least.
hot sr9850 relay and ABS light.05 Oct 2008 05:55 GMT5
Hi group,
I have a 1988 420 SE. In the fusebox there are 5 of the above numbered relays. The one on the passenger side, closest to the front of the car is really hot to touch, even with the ignition off. I replaced it and no difference. Also, the ABS warning light remains on. ...
300D Won't Start03 Oct 2008 15:25 GMT10
My '77 300D which usually runs great wouldn't start this morning. I
tried jump starting it from my wife's car and it still wouldn't start.
Electric clock, lights, etc., seem to have normal brightness. Mercedes
battery is only a year or so old. Glow plug indicator light on dash
300e Speedometer fluctuation02 Oct 2008 07:39 GMT6
My 300e's speedometer will run up to and peg at 160MPH the true speed
being 25MPH. It's intermittent. Sometimes if works fine.  On a
percentage basis, I would say that it malfunctions 75% of the time. Is
there a bushing that has too much lateral play in it? Is there an
C280 radio problem01 Oct 2008 14:25 GMT5
I have a 1999 C280 Sport with the Bose radio package. This morning when
I turned the radio on a loud shriek came out and would not stop. This
noise is constant and covers up the radio station (which can still be
heard vaguely in the background). The noise is nearly as loud as the ...
