Attn: Tiger - expansion tank hose28 Jun 2009 15:05 GMT2
I have a 1995 E320. There is a hose on top of the expansion tank (no, not the one to the radiator) that enters the tank at the neck, just above the bottom seal of the cap. It has web insulation. Is is, perhaps, a vacuum line, and if not, what is it?

axle replacement instructions needed - 1998 e320 4 matic wagon front     pasenger side26 Jun 2009 02:48 GMT1
While finding the leak in my condenser in my 98 e320 4 matic, I found
the boot is torn open on the passenger side axle, and a shop to
replace the boots.  Any instruction on removing the axle would be
helpful.
300SD oil cooler lines25 Jun 2009 21:13 GMT2
Since I use this board to get info, I thought I would give some since
I found nothing on this when I looked.
On my ’84 they were leaking like crazy at the fittings. Since new ones
were running about $250 for the pair on-line, I decided to try
'84 300SD. New modulator. Still shifting hard.25 Jun 2009 19:15 GMT5
I just put a new modulator in the transmission. Went well. However,
the hard shifts didn’t get any better (Up and down. A real clunk into
4th). It seems to jump from first, stop half a beat in second, before
settling into third.  So I took off the vacuum line to the modulator
What Year Used S-Class is Reliable to Buy??22 Jun 2009 05:03 GMT2
Given the horror stories I've heard about MB's reliability (or lack
thereof), and knowing my new acquisition might be long out of
warranty, I would like to hear your collective wisdom before jumping
into purchase of a 2001 or later S-Class.   Any particular year that

Pressure Wash SL450 Engine?13 Jun 2009 20:43 GMT2
I am working on a friend's 1975 SL 450.  It's in pretty good shape,
but the engine is really dirty.  The guy who owns our local German
auto shop told me that pressure washing the engine would be a bad idea
because the engine has electronic fuel injection, and that I would
rear shocks--necessary to remove wheel?13 Jun 2009 01:32 GMT6
I'm doing the rear shocks on my 84 300SD and read somewhere
that I need to remove the wheel.  Do I really need to do this?
Getting under the car it looks like that's not really necessary.
I have read about removing the rear seat to get to the top nut.

1983 300D Value10 Jun 2009 05:01 GMT3
I recently stopped by a wrecking yard that specializes in wrecked exotic
cars. I've seen many very expensive cars that were totaled by the insurance
company.
I was pleased to see a 1983 300D Turbo Diesel there. With the exception of a

1981 300SD: What's it worth?04 Jun 2009 19:51 GMT8
Der Klunker is settling into advanced klunkerhood. Rust is everywhere,
the head liner is dripping. There's a large dent on the left front
fender. Seats are broken down. The hood ornament is long gone -- the
third one. Radio stolen. Paint is chipping. In short, it looks terrible.
