Mini Cord13 Jul 2003 19:11 GMT4
Iam looking at a 1995 Mini Cord apparently from Venezuala. Any opinions?
http://www.minipassionmini.50megs.com/gb/historyminicord.htm
It has a fiberglass body (no rust!) but everything else is stock Mini.
Is this a good idea? Bad idea? I¹d like opinions. THANKS

Advice needed11 Jul 2003 16:30 GMT6
Dear folks,
Recently the engine of my car (95 Rover Cooper) always stalls when I want to
stop the car. When I depress the clutch pedal fully while the car is about
to stop, the rpm of the engine just drop straight to zero and the engine
aussie cams11 Jul 2003 14:53 GMT7
anyone have an opinion on wade cams?  i've been told they're a better bet
than the english (kent) ones.
the 3 models i've heard about are 104 (very mild apparently), 140 & 240.
the wade 140 is what's been suggested to me to use but I can't find any
Any mini events going on?11 Jul 2003 09:31 GMT1
I will over the pond from the 16th to the 25th.  Any UK mini events
occurring?  Basically will be in Devon and Sussex but not adverse to
traveling a bit.
thanks
Fun with needles (no, I'm not on heroine)!11 Jul 2003 08:39 GMT3
I had a great time yesterday. I decided I was going to try to give my
mini a better carburation after fitting a stage 1 kit and spent a few
hours making my own needle starting from an AAV and using winsu from
www.winsu.co.uk as reference. I sanded it down here and there testing
Yokohama A048R (165/55/12) Tyre10 Jul 2003 16:21 GMT1
Looking at my front tyres (currently Dunlop sports 165/60/12) i think soon i
will need new ones.  I corner pretty hard so it's my own fault, though I
have done 20k on them which i guess isn't bad.
Saw that Yokohama A048R (165/55/12) Tyre  are even lower profile (another 5%
glad i asked then!09 Jul 2003 10:14 GMT3
Well just as well I asked then! (as if i would buy a car without checking
with everyone first)
I was tempted to get a newer car because of all the miles I put on mine and
didn't want to keep a car with too much mileage.. perhaps then I'd be better
I think they're trying to rip me off08 Jul 2003 21:16 GMT6
I fitted a stage 1 on my 998 and took it in today for a rolling road tuning
session. I left the car this morning and at 6 pm this guy calls me saying he
could not do any tuning because the parts are not at all right. He said that
the exhaust and the inlet manifolds are too big for ...
Emissions & squeak08 Jul 2003 09:09 GMT4
Hey folks,  My '97 Cooper (Mpi) failed the MOT today on emissions.
Passed the natural idle test, but failed both fast idle tests because of the
lambda reading (CO and HC were fine)
At 2846 rpm lambda was 1.152 (limits are 0.950 - 1.090)
Black plastic trim rolls07 Jul 2003 18:06 GMT3
I recently bought some roof gutter trim (the kind that comes in a roll) and
some doorstep trim, same plastic roll type. THE STUFF SMELLS LIKE sh.t!!!
does anyone agree? :)))

unleaded cylinder head question07 Jul 2003 15:12 GMT5
Can anyone advise if i can do my own visual check to see if my mini has an
unleaded cylinder head?
It's a Mini Advantage 1988 with a yellow head, I was told that if its an
original engine, which it is, that the colour may indicate it, but i'm
is it worth upgrading07 Jul 2003 07:39 GMT3
Hi People,
I am tempted to sell my 95 Stage 1 Rover Cooper and buy a
98 or newer Cooper Sport, if I did so would I notice signigicantly more
power or would it just be the big wheel arches and extra safetly features
Auxillary Temp Sensor options07 Jul 2003 04:35 GMT7
3 QUESTIONS about adding a better coolant sensor/gauge: <1293cc engine>
I've got an original electric, temperature sender in the head (of the car)
;-) . It currently (no pun intended) sends its resistance values to a cheapy
temperature gauge in the center combo gauge (fuel, ...
Racing pic of Rocky sighted06 Jul 2003 20:09 GMT2
At Mosport this weekend for vintage car races,  I picked up a couple of
copies of the 'Mini Gazette'.  This is the club newsletter of the 'Mini
Owners of Southern Ontario',  and particularly attractive since in it's
masthead it declares "This is a BMW-free Newsletter.
