Dashboard brake switch12 Sep 2003 20:15 GMT6
What is the brake switch on the dash for? Mine has never done  anything,
(Just thought - I didnt check the bulb in the switch).
Anyway can I remove it and put the foglight switch where it was?
My brakes were checked on the MOT 2 weeks ago are in perfect working order.

I went to get my tracking corrected yesterday, and was informed that one
wheel was about 2 inches higher than the other.  I believe this could be the
shocks/susspension.
Question i need answering, i have a L reg 1993 Sprite.  Are the shocks

I took my air filter off again to have a closer look, and under the air
filter, there were two hoses connecting the air-intake thingie to metal
pipes. One metal pipe (still connected) disappears somewhere towards the
back of the car, and one metal pipe (not connected) runs somewhere ...

to know because I think about fitting a navigation system and would need
the signal from the electronic speedo.

Recently I bought a Quickshift, but I am having trouble putting it in my
car. You are supposed to remove the 2 little pins from the side of your
original gearmech but those bloody thing won't come out. Any advice?

My brother just bought a 1976 innocenti mini cooper 1300, really beautiful!
It has a problem with the clutch and brake pedals. When either of them is
depressed it pulls the other down slightly, and the clutch pedal has a very
slow return, causing the clutch to "slip" on full ...

How come there is such a difference for the torque settings for 1275GT and
coopers compared to other models, is a different type of bearing fitted?
The haynes manual quotes 150 lb/ft for 1275 and Cooper and 60 lb/ft for the

I bought an 1961 Austin seven not long ago.  It hasn't been started since
1974, so I'm being careful about how I should start it up.
I have just done a compression test by placing a little oil through the
spark plug holes.  Here are the results:

While replacing a wheel bearing i noticed a little play in top and bottom
ball joints on both wheels.  The MOT is coming up soon, can anyone tell me
if any play is acceptable when holding the wheel top and bottom.
