My 19 year old son is in the process of buying a 1970 Mini with the
intention of restoring it over the winter.Are there any books or videos
around that I could buy to help him along ?? Thanks in advance.

I had my clutch and gearbox replaced last year and when I got the car back
there was almost unbearable vibration from the clutch area. the bloke said
leave it for a few thousand miles and it would stop.
well the vibration decreased but yesterday I replaced the top steady bushes

I'm trying to find ignition timing settings for a marinised BMC 803
engine (as fitted to the early minis/minors and Austin A35s).  The
engine has been recently overhauled and I believe it has been fitted
with an unleaded cylinder head so would it be necesssary to retard the

Neither of my Mini's (1962 and 1964) have keys.  One car has a key
that works (but the key number doesn't match the lock number), and the
other has none.
Is there any supplier of keys?  Preferably, I would like to find

A couple of weeks ago, I posted the URL of my mini for sale on ebay. Well,
although she was bid upon she didn't reach the reserve and I put her on

Gonna sound like a really silly question, but after hunting all the way
through my haynes, i can't find the correct gap for my points.
it's a lucas dizzy on a 998, 1984 mini 25,   the problem being is they had
worked loose, and now i ain't got a scooby as to how wide the gap should

My body number on my mini is 16722(near radiator panel). Can any one
give me more info on what year this morris mini is & if it originally
had slide windows. I know for sure that the engine is an 850 & used to
have a magic wand type gear lever. Melbourne Australia.

I have a 1991 Mini Cooper S which has a 1275cc engine with twin 1.25" SU
carbs. It has the standard cooper airbox.
When driving, usually in 3rd or 4th gear, at around 4000 RPM the engine
starts to splutter and the rev counter needle behaves erratically bouncing

Can anyone help with this one.The fuel gauge has stopped working .What is
the test to see if it is the gauge or the sender unit .I think you have to
short one to ground but not 100% sure.Anyone know?

anyone know what a 91 1300 auto is supposed to run at or indeed what minis
do run at ? mine runs over 100 degrees and im not keen on that. is that

Can anyone help me with this?
I've recently removed the Spax adjusables from the rear of  Mini. I've
never adjusted them before but I was hoping to. Theres a little screw
at the bottom which rotates as many revolutions as I wish in either
