Can anyone clear up another little question for me please.
Someone, Kieth Calver I believe, suggest that when rebuilding a front /
rear split drum brake setup it is wise to ditch the 4 way valve on the
bulkhead and to replace it with an MS72 in-line adjustable brake

Hi, just a quick and hopefully easy question. Jacked up the front of the
Mini suspecting wheel bearing wear, no play in the hub but the top swivel
moves about 2or 3mm in and out, tightened the nut a bit, but still movement
in the top of the hub assembly. The Nut remains still, ...

First, could anybody give me some clues to determine if a second hand mini
is worth to be bought ?
Especially what are the weak points to look at ?
Second, I've been told in the past that Mini engines weren't built by BMW

Does anybody know what Michelin XAS tyres are like?  It seems as though
they have an old fashioned tread pattern on - will this make any
difference?

is this meant to light up when it is pressed?
mine does not... (1995 Mini Tahiti)
although it does come on when the brake fluid level is low
any ideas how to fix it if it is meant to light up when pressed?

Can anybody tell me what year they started stamping the VIN number onto the
body of the car.  I know older cars only had the VIN plate either on the
front cross member or on the R/H inner wing.
