Advice please.
Renewing the full length battery cable in my CE. Got a length of cable
and separate ends.
Is there a trick to soldering (and/or crimping) the ends to the cable

Anyone know where I can get the rear light seal body to silver lamp surround
both Left and right hand for a Mk5 Mini. The ones I bought from Moss are for
their light clusters and are smaller than the Lucas originals.
Part numbers are Lucas 545 90555 RH, Lucas 545 90554 LH

I am about to replace the rear light cluster foam rubber seal (plastic to
chromium - not chromium to bodywork), the old ones have perished. There are
three screws; one for the top - yellow and red - and two for the revering
and reflector.

I have a Cooper SPI mini and the distributor body has been moved.
Until now, I've always had carb minis that I could set the timing
manually.  Can anyone please tell me how I check/alter the timing on
the SPI mini.

If anyone is interested, I will be at the Rushden rally with my large
collection of Mini models on display this weekend. My collection represents
almost every variation of the REAL mini ever made and then some specials.
Rushden is in Northampton.

The haynes manual shows two very different settings (60 and 150 lb/ft).  It
seeems our open classic comes under the 60 setting (although it is a 1275
engine).
Are different bearings fitted to some models?, also should the torques be

I took my nephew back to Aberystwyth University yesterday and parked on
campus was a lovely blue pre 1963 (well the registration plate was of the
old kind anyway) MKI Morris Mini Minor.  Well I just had to take a
photograph and I saw quite a few real Mini's driving around the town ...

Is there any problem with fitting opening windows to the rear of a 78
Mayfair please? i.e. if I pick up the windows and seal will they fit the
existing aperture?

I'm using a mini wiper motor in a Westfield, no idea of the donor
vehicle details, sorry.
Motor been working fine for years, but during rebuild work all three
wires have "popped" off the back of the multi plug on the motor!
