I have a 1984 mini mayfair.
Wich has sat on my drive for some 5 years resulting in rust in the usual
places! I am thinking of getting it going again, but with my lack of
mechanical skills I have to pay for the work to be done.

just fitted a smiths 3" rev counter to the pickup, it does work, but reads
4000rpm at IDLE - ie around 4 times as much as it should.  Its a smiths RVI
1003/00 if that helps, i have tried wiring it to both the + and - sides of
the coil to the same effect.  i am about to email ...

Just after a little advice. Had an engine stood in my garage for a year
or 2, before I fit it to the car  I was gonna try and start it up on
the bench. Any thing i should watch out for, safety wise also?

the engine is out of the car and is being stripped at the moment, problem is

hello people,
on my 1981 998cc someone has fitted a lumenition electronic ignition kit to
replace the points.  - great , but looking at the wiring diagrams it seems
they have swapped the + and - over on the coil - does this have any effect?

Dear Group, can anyone advice me please, Ive been given a 2005 Cooper to use
