123 Distributor31 Aug 2006 01:54 GMT2
Has anyone got any experience of fitting and using the 123 distributor on a
Mini 998 with Stage 1. Is it a good change to make and what settings have
you found work well.
Cheers

Want to replace the standard seat for something more comfortable &

I have a K' reg, Mini Cooper 1.3i.
Its seems to idle at traffic lights at about 500rpm, and seems to chug a bit
as if its running to low.

Hot motors - a cautionary tale21 Aug 2006 23:12 GMT4
I am looking for a motor for my Clubby Van and found a 1098cc that looked a
pretty good buy in a magazine.  Called the bloke, spoke to him at length,
agreed on  pick-up details and, as an afterthought, asked him for the engine
number.  Mmmh.  Not the same as the number in the ad. ...

The ignition switch on our 92 open classic is getting temperamental.  We
have had a new key cut and given it a spray of wd40 but its no different,
obviously something is getting worn.  Is anything in there serviceable or do

carb problem?17 Aug 2006 22:50 GMT3
I took the carb off my mini (1981, 998cc) the other day to give it a
bit of a service. Now I've put it back on, I can't get it to idle

Coils?10 Aug 2006 16:07 GMT11
I was at an Autojumble the other day and found a clean, new looking Lucas
Sports Coil DLB105 Gold for 3 pounds. Looking at the deal, it was worth a
gamble so I bought it and fitted it to the mini when I got home. All works
fine and in actual fact the car runs noticeably better.

Australian built minis09 Aug 2006 08:38 GMT4
I just got hold of a Parts Manual for Australian built minis and they give a
very useful break down of engine numbering codes but only for 1098cc and
1275cc engines.  Did any Australian built cars have 998's?

I was hoping that someone could recommend a possible solution to my

with a 1.3L SPI engine.  I don't believe the MK designation is the same
here as is there but its a 5 speed with 2 dummy lights (Oil, ...
