I have a Camshaft that came with an assortment of stuff I was told it
was a 286.
How do I tell what it is?
Is there a way of working it out on the bench?

Unfortunately this did not solve the problem.  I put the motor back on, then
charged the battery and then checked the earth straps - no success.
Under the bonnet on the right of the bulkhead there are two relays which I
could hear clicking when I turned the key to the start position ...

Right well I might be lucky enough to be getting a complete copy of
this mad 1969 small film ("Vive Le Sport") that I was waffling on about

Got the starter sorted, failure in some of the windings of the solenoid.
Local auto electrics repaired it, just gonna go fit it now.
