MAF on Mitsubishi Eclipse 2.028 Aug 2006 00:57 GMT2
Some tuning shop offers a MAF module to be interface with ECM in order
to improve the signal and allow air-fuel mix control by the driver.
I ask if it is really of use, if it is also suitable for my Mitsu
Eclipse 1G non turbo, and if I risk to burn the ECM this way.
Anyone use Amsoil in their Manual Transmission?27 Aug 2006 14:39 GMT6
Just curious. I have a 1990 Montero (4-wheel drive with a manual transmission)
and Mitsubishi specifies a GL4 75w-85w oil and the Amsoil fits that spec.
Also, Mitsubishi recommends to add their Friction Modifier to the transmission.
What does the Friction Modifier actually do, and ...

92 Expo Check engine light after timing belt replacement25 Aug 2006 01:53 GMT3
I have a 92 Expo with the check engine light on. I had the timing belt
replaced at around 120K and the light came on while driving home. The
mechanic pulled the code and it was 43 - indicating a problem with the
EGR valve.  My car does not have an EGR valve (no CA emissions). About
Well, it wasn't a broken ring...25 Aug 2006 00:40 GMT3
The head off and the pistons are out of the 4G63 in my Summit GTX. No broken
rings surprisingly. One piston is very carboned up, another less so, and the
other two are normal. Obviously the problem had been coming for a while, and
I had noticed the unexpected high oil consumption ...
91' Eclipse door seals24 Aug 2006 14:15 GMT2
The door seals, I'm sure they're the originals, have lost their ability
to repel water and in the winter, the doors freeze shut.
Is there anything I can coat them with so they won't freeze so much?
Thanks for any info!

1999 Galant 4cyl fuel pump sources?23 Aug 2006 02:27 GMT2
I've traced my dead engine down to a faulty fuel pump on our 1999 Galant
4 cyl, (145,000 miles).  The car starts and runs with a spray of ether
in the intake, so it's definitely a fuel problem.  I get no fuel output
when putting 12v to #2 on the pump relay, and when I checked the

Recently bought a set of Toyo Proxes - handling is a little sloppier on
hwy than previous Yokohama AVS - both sets running 35F/29R - tried
increasing pressure, seemed to make rear a little loose.  Any
suggestions on tire PSI F/R?  Tire sidewall says it can go to 50PSI but

Ignition Coil gets super-hot on 91 Montero LS16 Aug 2006 05:43 GMT1
I have a 91 Montero V6 3.0 that will crank but will not start.  The
fuel pump does not prime when you turn the key and the coil does not
fire when the key is turned to on as it should on the Montero.  The
coil gets very hot as long as the key is turned.
