GLE or GXE10 Jul 2004 13:55 GMT14
I've been thinking about buying a six- to eight-yerar old Maxima this Fall,
based on recommendations of a couple of ffriends who have been happy with
theirs of that approximate vintage.  I may have some second thoughts as I've
read this newsgroup which, of course, focusses on ...

identify the part from the numbers on it.

Climate control lights ONLY aren't showing up06 Jul 2004 21:47 GMT1
Hi. Recently I did a modification to make my clock stay on bright even with
the headlights turned on.  It required for me to cut a red wire with a
blue line going through it.  After doing it, the lights lighting up my
auto climate control unit went out (blue/red arrows, auto, econ, ...

recommendations on the type/model I should get, where I should purchase

90 Nissan Maxima Flash Oil Light, Knock, Valve Noise, Oil Pump? HELP!?06 Jul 2004 04:20 GMT3
I have a 1990 Nissan Maxima, not sure if it's a GXE or a SE, (how do you

I have checked with the manufactures specs about oil changes, which
95 Max non-Bose radio06 Jul 2004 00:48 GMT1
Are the speaker outputs from the basic non-Bose radio/cassette
anything special?   (in contrast to the special output from Bose to
the  amp'ed speakers).  Can the non-Bose speakers be replaced with
aftermarket speakers, or are some signal issues I need to worry about?
Is my knock sensor dead from these readings? 97 Maxima Nissan05 Jul 2004 14:22 GMT4
I've been plague by a "knock sensor" check engine light that won't
go away. I check the knock sensor while still bolted to the engine
block and got these readings at 2K-rpm:
DMM: ~20mV AC, 5.5M-Ohm.

90k service04 Jul 2004 23:19 GMT4
I just recently bought my maxima about a month ago and it is slowly
approaching 90k miles.  I have been running fine, with a few things that
bother me ie. transmission, engine lagging at low rpms, etc.  I have read
around and find the 90k service should fix everything wrong. (oil, ...

Is Gas Mileage bad in these cars?03 Jul 2004 19:55 GMT6
I was going to buy a 1993 with 120 K on it, loaded sunroof etc, but one of
my mech. says they burn lots of gas like 19 per gallon. Thats 8k per liter
With the price of gas going up all the time, and no work lately I wonder if
this is a wise purchase.
front brakes on 2000 Maxima01 Jul 2004 01:04 GMT2
My brakes are squeeling after 85k miles, I presume it's the front.  Is there
any trick to replacing the pads on the front brakes?  Do the slave cylinders
just push back in (using a C-clamp) or are they threaded, or some other
trick?
