| Cooper Tires | 31 Aug 2004 23:06 GMT | 9 |
First off, glad to hear NissTech is alive and well. (And to think I was considering moving to Florida...) Second: It is tire time. I currently have the Bridgestone Potenza R92 tires on my '98. My mechanic suggested that they're okay for a little more time,

| Easy *stupid* Fuel door question | 31 Aug 2004 06:16 GMT | 1 |
Ok, Sorry for the really dumb question but how do you open the fuel door on a 2001 Nissan Maxima? I picked up my brother's car and I need to get some gas in it for him, but I can't find a lever to open the fuel door.

When the headlights are turned off, the dashboard lights come on when the brakes are applied. Brake lights still work though. However, when headlights are on, back taillights don't come on. When the brakes are applied, they work, but dashboard lights go out. I've not did any

| 92 Maxima automatic transmission | 30 Aug 2004 05:24 GMT | 2 |
I was dirving down the road and my transmission quit pulling completley, just like somebody put it in neutral. Prior to this there was no slippage and the fluid is red and not burnt. My first thought after checking the fluid was that an axle might have popped out which I checked, ...

| Maxima Key Question | 29 Aug 2004 04:22 GMT | 4 |
Hi. I have a 99 Maxima where the key has electronics within it (sorry, I don't know the correct terminology for it). The little plastic piece across the top of the key broke making it impossible to attach it to a key ring. Rather than pay $50 for a new key, would it be possible to ...

| steering box adjustment | 29 Aug 2004 04:00 GMT | 1 |
I have a 98 Maxima GXE. I have a noise when I turn the wheel, when turning at slow speed. I traced the noise, I think, to the steering box. After pulling the boot off the drivers side of the box, it appears that the shaft is moving quite a bit sideways(laterally) when I turn the ...

I have an engine light on, indicating TCC is an issue. The dealer said to leave things as is as the car is running well. Well the engine light does bother me, and if I reset it, the light comes back on in a few days. Any suggestions or comments. I don't wish to start taking ...

| 2002 GLE Replacement Tires | 27 Aug 2004 19:45 GMT | 3 |
I've been browsing this NG for info about replacement tires for my 02 GLE. The OEM size (215/55-17) is limited to a few models from even fewer manufacturers. I've received a few different responses to queries about acceptable tire sizes. Tire Rack states that 225/50-17

| 99 max GLE...How can I reduce outside noise | 27 Aug 2004 19:16 GMT | 9 |
I just bought a 99 Maxima GLE a couple of weeks ago, fully loaded...overall I'm very happy with it. My only complaint about it is how much outside noise I get inside when driving...it seems to me that a car of this class should be quieter on the road. There were lots of little ...

| Fix Engine or Buy a New or Rebuilt Engine or Scrap Car? | 27 Aug 2004 14:21 GMT | 20 |
I have a 1998 Mercury Villager minivan - it uses the Maxima engine. The camshaft broke and I have no compression in the cylinders on that side of the engine. I expect the pistons and valves had some contact as this is an interference engine.
