Hi. My maxima has a very strange sound. This begun when i had a flat tire,
I replace it and all, but when i started to drive a sound like something
scratching the front axis came. A friend's car (Mazda) changed its tire
recently and it has this problem too, any ideas?? Thanks

My Limo (91 GXE with about 260k miles/417k kms) has been plagued with
alingment problems for the past two months. An independent garage
worked on it in August, but it is still a problem.
I took it to a Nissan dealer this morning, and here is the diagnosis:

Can someone explain to me how the clutches in the later Maximas are
designed ??
I tried a 92 and a 98 Maxima and the clutch is hard as a rock...
They don't depress down like the clutch in my 87 Maxima...

Anyone know where the fuel pump is on an 87 Maxima? Is it in the gas tank?
I seem to have a humming sound coming from that area and I dont know the
answer...

Bought an SE in the beginning of Sept w/80k on it.  Fantastic car!  
Am about at 81.7k now and the service engine soon light has been coming on
fairly steadily.  We have a Midas about three minutes away and I've taken
it in there each time.  First time, car was running OK but ...

Alright, I'm on my THIRD Bose 6-CD changer unit.  This one "skips" (plays
and then stops for a few seconds and plays for a second or two, then stops,
etc) which is a problem that I had with a previous one.  This happens until
the car (or the unit?) warms up..... so I can't play ...

My idle & below 2500 rpm miss was probably caused by a cracked evap
canister connection. Found it while replacing all the vac hoses after
cleaning throttle body & replacing intake manifold gaskets.  
My next problem to address is the steering & suspension. The steering is

Lsat night the red check battery light on my 87 maxima came on. The
voltage guage had gone to zero.
My mechanic traced the issue to a blown guages fuse?  He replaced the
fuse but could not get it to blow again.

I recently received sereral service letters from local Nissan dealers and I
never had my 2K Max serviced over there.

My 2002 GLE (auto) has about 50K on it and its feels like it's time to
do the brakes.  I'd rather not go to the shop.

I was having problems with the car stalling while driving, the radio going
off and on and the air bag light flickering off and on as well.
I replaced the battery and alternator and that didn't help.  The problems
became more frequent.
