Rusty Front Brake Rotors on 2004 Maxima31 Dec 2004 01:35 GMT6
Brake vibration on a 2004 Maxima with only 25,000 km (i.e. 15,000 miles).
Dealer says due to rust on inside edge of front brake rotors and rotors need
to be turned (i.e. machined).  Warranty does not cover rust on brake rotors
even at 25,000 km!  Has anybody else experienced this ...
Ticking noise30 Dec 2004 23:21 GMT4
I have a Maxima 2001,  there is a slight ticking/tapping noise when the
engine is running.  No service lights are on.  Wondering if it could be a
tear in the timing belt that is hitting on the outer protective casing or
valve.
1995 Maxima Console removal procedure30 Dec 2004 22:23 GMT9
The reply to this is a large, 7.15MB file, a PowerPoint Slide Show that
details in pictures the procedure to remove the center console. I hope this
helps people that might otherwise be intimidated by the job, it's actually
easy.

check engine light / loose fuel filler cap29 Dec 2004 23:43 GMT5
I went to the mechanic last week because my check engine light was
on.  The mechanic ran a test and said the only problem was that I had
a loose fuel filler cap.  When I got the car back the check engine
light was off because the mechanic had fixed the problem.  However the

For the past several months, I've been noticing that my '98 GXE will have a

die. If I kick the accelerator, it will start up okay. If the car is warm,
it starts fine. Driving, I notice no issues...

93 Max GXE:  Replace engine?27 Dec 2004 13:49 GMT3
93 Max GXE with 190,000 miles.  Car is in excellent condition but rear main
is leaking oil -- the leak started 24 months ago, tiny drip.  Has now
progressed to the point where I must add half a quart of oil between changes
(every 3,500 miles).
Parasitic battery drain?25 Dec 2004 23:51 GMT3
I have a '97 Maxima SE that appears to have a parasitic battery drain
problem. My wife drives the car short distances, leaves it for several
hours, then the engine won't turn over when she tries to start it. I
replaced the battery; it worked for a few days before the problem

Anyone have any suggestions for a low idle issue.  It seems to happen more
in colder weather.
3rd gen Maxima front end clatter24 Dec 2004 01:49 GMT5
My wife's 94 GXE has developed a "clatter" when going about 15mph over
slightly rough roads.  I think it might be a front transverse link (control
arm) bushing or a stablizer bar bushing, but I can't tell for sure.  The
rear rubber bushing in the front transverse links show some ...
