struts30 Apr 2005 02:19 GMT1
I just had brand new struts put on the front and back of my 1991 maxima.
Now when I hit a bump or rut in the highway it feels like I am riding on
nothing but rims in the front. The front part of the car is hitting real
hard. Thanks for any help.

Need Help!  Half-shaft problem!29 Apr 2005 22:02 GMT3
I had 2 re-manned half-shafts installed on my '91 SE about a week ago.
Since then, I have noticed several new "features" that the car didn't have
for the last 130K that I've owned it.  I also got an alignment at the same
time.  The tires are in pretty good shape, although they do ...

2000 Max SE29 Apr 2005 17:16 GMT7
My opinion hasn't changes in the last 40,000 miles.  This is Japan's attempt
at revenge for Hiroshima.
What a piece of crap.
Anyone want it?  Cheap.
Throw away that K&N filter!29 Apr 2005 05:39 GMT1
I don't have any experience with these filters, but if NissTech is buying
beers, I'll jump on the bandwagon!

Pressure in the gas tank.29 Apr 2005 00:19 GMT3
Have a 1998 Maxima gxe. Use to release the pressure after opening the gas
tank to fill up. (made noise like the air came out). Lately it hasn't been
doing it?
Is that a problem?
Mileage Milestone - 190k28 Apr 2005 15:59 GMT3
190k! 96 GXE, Auto.
Still running great and looks fine, getting around 23-25mpg, and no
horrific repairs to date.
I love this car, but alas, I should start saving money for a new one
Spring Compressors required to remove strut????28 Apr 2005 15:27 GMT9
I have a '91 Nissan maxima GXE 5spd (190K) that needs 4 new struts and
one drive axle (driver's side).  2 Questions:
1.  Do I need a spring compressor to remove the springs or will full
droop of the wheel be enough to get the springs off?
smell of gas on first start/early morning28 Apr 2005 14:47 GMT2
every morning on my first start i get a fairly strong smell of gasoline
apparent in and outside of the car.  i don't know if this is due to the
morning (though the temperature hasn't changed drastically recently, it
has waivered between warm and cool) start or it just being the ...
30-40k service on 01 max?28 Apr 2005 06:47 GMT9
my car is at like 35k miles (2001) and I'm wondering what I should be doing
for service at this time (besides the regular oil and filter changes) I use
conventional "dyno" oil and have been thinking about switching to either
mobil one amsoil or some other type of synthetic ...

95 vs 98 Maxima26 Apr 2005 20:51 GMT10
Thanks to all who responded to my "longevity" question.
I'm looking at a 98 GXE with 90000 miles, but it's a bit more than I
want to spend ($8000 before any haggling).
A 95 model would be closer to my price range.
