2000 Maxima - electrical problem - need help22 Aug 2005 13:08 GMT16
I have a 2000 Maxima.  Recently replaced all 6 ignition coils after diagnosed

1987 Maxima Check Timing22 Aug 2005 05:11 GMT8
On my 87 Maxima where is the pulley and pointer which I normally use
with a timing light to observe my engine timing? Is expect the pulley to
be at the end opposite where transaxle connects to endine. Is the pulley
visible at all or is timing measured only by diagnostic station?  ...
Tires for 2k Maxima21 Aug 2005 07:40 GMT4
Here's another post by a n00b, so please bear with me.
Seems like I may have warped tires and or rims, so I'm considering
getting new tires and possibly new rims.
I know I can't afford 18" rims and tires, but just out of curiousity,
P0153 code for Maxima 2K20 Aug 2005 02:21 GMT8
The SEL light recently came on my Maxima 2K. The code from the OBD II
scanner was P0153 - Heated Oxygen Sensor 1 Circuit Slow Response (Bank
2). Does this mean I need to replace the oxygen sensor on my car?
Anyone have any idea where the oxygen sensor is located, which side,
Check Engine light reader.. want to get one....19 Aug 2005 15:33 GMT7
02 GLE
I'm thinking of getting an ODB2 diagnostic reader for my Max, so I dont
have to keep paying $30 to the mechanic every time it goes off. Anyone
have any suggestions for a cheap, effective reader? Also, where can I
Steering Wheel Shake19 Aug 2005 08:57 GMT7
On our 2000, the wheel was shaking pretty good during braking (also, feel it
in your seat), so we had the rotors replaced.  Still shaking.  It is
inconsistent also, worse at some times than others.  Tried different wheels
on the front, in case the wheels were warped-no change.  Any ...
1987 Maxima - Ignition wires-coil boot19 Aug 2005 05:29 GMT2
I am trying to buy spark plug ignition wires for my 1987 Maxima.
Looking at my ignition coil, there seems to be a rubber boot
completely covering and hiding the coil. This boot looks like it is a
molded part of the wire from distributor center post to coil, not an
1987 Mxima - miss at idle only.19 Aug 2005 05:28 GMT3
I've only driven  my 87 Maxima  [67000 miles] about 15000 miles since it
was  given a major tune-up  in 2000. Changed plugs and HV wires,
distributor cap and rotor. The car now mis-fires intermittently at idle
and someimes at idle, only misses when the Air Conditioner is on. Not
2000 maxima oversteer19 Aug 2005 03:53 GMT2
Hey guys..
I've been driving my maxima quite a bit, and had a couple of hard
braking happen couple of days ago.
Seems like there's noticeable oversteer (steering wheel shakes
1987 Maxima -Which model is my car?19 Aug 2005 03:46 GMT3
I am trying to buy after market ignition parts and the question always
is asked, "...which model do you have...SE, GL, SL, or other  so they
can sell me the correct ignition wire set.
My max does not have a rear spoiler on trunk, has combo door lock,
Front axle replacement and power steering fluid19 Aug 2005 03:26 GMT2
A while back I let the dealer replace the left front axle on my 1991 Maxima
because "the boot was torn and could not be replaced otherwise."
Whatever...  But whether I got took is not my question today.  I checked my
fluid levels recently and noticed the power steering fluid was ...
97 Maxima SE Auto stalling at idle, hesitating at speed18 Aug 2005 20:33 GMT7
For the last 5 weeks, I've had problems with stalling at idle and slight
hesitation at speed on my 97 Max SE (auto, 168k miles).
I have taken my car to three mechanics - the first one (Firestone) said
my fuel pressure was bleeding and replaced the fuel pressure regulator.
Check Engine + exhaust problems18 Aug 2005 01:45 GMT2
I have a 2002 GLE with 87k miles. A week ago, I noticed that the car
sounded louder. 2 days ago, my check engine light came on, and just
today, it definitely feels like my mid-pipe has a hole in it, coz it is
loud as hell. While I'm waiting to get these things checked up, I read
What engine oil for 2000 maxima?18 Aug 2005 00:49 GMT5
Hey guys.
I just bought a pre-owned 2000 maxima, and loving it so far.
What engine oil, synthetic or regular should I use for it?  I know you
can't go back once you go synthetic, but that's not a concern for me.
