I have a 2000 Maxima, and recently, the brake and battery lights on the
instrument panel began flickering. Both come on and flicker at the same
rate -- it's always both of them together. I brought the car in to my
mechanic, and he checked the alternator, the battery, and the brakes,

i had broken exhaust manifold stud on rear of engine. Mechanic tried to
drill it but could not. He removed the head sent it to a mechine shop to
have it filled and redrilled. Put it all back and it seemed fine. 200
miles later car broke down, had to be towed back.
