Stupid ODB2 question05 Aug 2004 00:24 GMT3
I'd always thought that a car with ODB2 had no way to extract the codes
manually, ie by turning a screw on the ECU like I can do with my 94 Altima..
But a couple of times now I've read about people doing the same thing with
their newer Nissans.  Is this a Nissan-specific ability, ...
Pathfinder spare tire carrier tight04 Aug 2004 07:24 GMT1
Anyone have any good ideas on how to free up the spare tire carrier on my
'92?  It takes a lot of effort to swing it.  I don't know how tight it's
supposed to be, but it seems it should swing pretty freely.  I tried
shooting some Kroil into the hinges and working it back and forth, ...
how to set timing after timing belt breaks 04 Aug 2004 07:11 GMT3
I know it's likely I have one or more bent valves, but I'm going to give
replacing the timing belt a shot anyway. Problem is I don't know how to set
the valve train and crank/pistons to be in sync again. I know I am suppose
to find TDC on the compression stroke for cyl. 1, but I ...
Any Plans for an extended Armada?04 Aug 2004 03:11 GMT1
I was excited to hear that the full size armada was coming out. When I
saw it I was impressed, but I had hoped that a full-length truck would
soon follow.
The armada seems about the same size (if a little larger) as a Tahoe.
95 quest03 Aug 2004 00:06 GMT1
has anyone had luck getting Nissan to pay for the stud breaking in the
manifold.
What info is out there?
thanks Doug
Primera Knock (Detonation) Sensor02 Aug 2004 22:41 GMT4
3 times in the past 4 years my 1992 2.0l single point injection (SR20DI)
Primera Estate W10 has refused to start. Returning to the car 4-6 hrs later
with a recharged battery the car starts if you floor the accelerator and
turn it over for about 10-15secs. A bit rough to begin with ...
Code 0505 in 96 Sentra 02 Aug 2004 12:24 GMT4
AutoZone just read my code in my 96 Sentra, and said it was a P0505
(which I saw on the code reader). Their computer system in the store said a
p0505 was an "idle control system" malfunction.  However, the code chart on the
www.nissan.net website says sn 0505 code means "no ...

Slipping A/C Clutch -- bad clutch or bad compressor?02 Aug 2004 06:01 GMT3
This year I've noticed a metallic screeching sound when my A/C engages on
my Altima.  At first I thought it was a belt slipping, but I checked the
tension on both belts and they seem ok.  It happens mostly at about 2k rpm
and above, and if I'm moving when it happens, it'll usually ...
Safe-T-Cap Slip on Frame Rails02 Aug 2004 05:57 GMT1
My '82 2+2 280ZX has rust thru on the frame behind the driver's front wheel.
Someone referred me to a company called Auto Rust Technicians who sell a full
slip on front frame rail.  Is anyone familiar with this product and can provide
feedback on the pros and cons of this ...
2001 Nissan Quest Steering Wheel Noise02 Aug 2004 05:42 GMT1
I have a 2001 Quest, still under warrantee. When I make turns, the
steering wheel makes noises. I had a similar problem two years ago,
and the dealership fixed it by replacing a spiral cable.  They
replaced the spiral cable again this time but it didn't work. Has any
Timing Belt02 Aug 2004 04:28 GMT2
I have a 1995 Nissan Sentra GXE. Is there any fixed frequency when one has
to change the timing belt?
Is it something that can go unnoticed in a normal check up? Someone was
telling me that it is not possible to diagnose a timing belt problem so it
97 pick-up 0510 code - two errors??02 Aug 2004 03:35 GMT3
I have a 97 pickup with the 2.4l engine.
Last week I had my check engine light come on and the exaust now smells of
sulphur (eggs).
I had the code read today and it is 0510.  The code reader displayed it to
Rotating Thump/whump from suspension - Quest02 Aug 2004 01:07 GMT2
My '93 Quest (120K miles) started producing a thump/whump from the
front end. It's rotational, not severe, but definitely wrong. Comes on
around 25mph, by about 45 it seems to be gone although I think it's
just frequent enough that you don't feel the individual thumps at
1995 Nissan GXE: Power Window Switch01 Aug 2004 20:00 GMT2
I have a 95 Nissan Sentra GXE. The power window switch of  the rear right
window is broken. I think it is just the black piece that is broken. The
motor appears to be okay. Is it something that I can do myself? Do I have to
purchase the entire switch or I can get just the black cap ...
