Aluminum engine life?22 Jun 2005 04:31 GMT4
Most automakers (including Nissan) have mostly switched to Aluminum engine blocks.  How
many miles can you reasonably expect from Nissan aluminum engines?  From cast iron I expect
300,000 miles.  However the GM Vega aluminum "Durabuilt Engine" started to burn oil badly at

The other day I installed a stereo into my 1996 Nissan Primera.  The

96 Sentra.. Need help isolating engine squeal22 Jun 2005 00:41 GMT4
I have a 96 Sentra GXE and I am trying to isolate an intermittent
squeal from my engine area that I hear at startup and then goes away.
I recently changed out my water pump so I know it is not that.  I have

Is that something I can do it easily by myself?
Would it matter if I buy Hinge left or Hinge right for the passenger

I have been having a strange problem over the past few months with
what appears on the surface to be my automatic Climate Control system.
The problem has become evident following an incident where the dealer
had put the radiator hose on upside down resulting in it abrading
Pricing a new 2005 Nissan Frontier King Cab XE20 Jun 2005 20:10 GMT2
2005 Nissan Frontier King Cab XE was advertised by a local dealer below $13K
at the beginning of the year and now, June, within 6 months, the same truck
and dealer has it at $18K. A $5,000 or 38% increase!
I bought mine 2004 around $14K and if I waited 30 more days I could have ...

SR18DE oil leak19 Jun 2005 17:11 GMT1
Hello, I am looking at purchasing a 96 Pulsar GTI however there seems
to be an oil leak around the seal part where the top and bottom of the
engine bolt together.  No oil dripping to the bottom however, is this
a major problem?  Should I have it looked at by an expert?  cheers.
'91 Stanza ignition switch.....19 Jun 2005 17:05 GMT5
My daughter's Stanza has developed the "won't turn key" ignition switch
problem...sometimes works just fine, most times works after much
judicious "teasing" of the key in/out/jiggle activity, occasionally is
VERY balky and requires torque on the steering wheel, jiggling with the

shocks? or a combination ..
2005 Murano19 Jun 2005 06:27 GMT20
Just purchased a 2005 Murano SL AWD and would like to know if using premium
grade gas is really necessary or will using regular be ok. Owner's manual
isn't very clear except to say that for best performance use high test,
won't be racing just city driving. Thanks

'93 Pathy brakes: Pedal moves on it's own?18 Jun 2005 18:46 GMT2
My brother's '93 Pathfinder has an odd problem. When he lightly taps the
brakes the pedal moves down away from his foot a good inch and a half on
it's own before coming back up. I think that the only thing that could cause
that is a flakey brake booster but that's just a guess. Any ...
