Well I took my Sentra to the (independent) garage I usually go to and
asked them to look into the overheating problem.  They checked it out
and said it was definitely the thermostat.  They said they had a similar
model in a few weeks ago with the same problem.

I have a 1998 Nissan Altima.  Beginning this summer a rather loud rattling
noise is coming from the engine whenever the air conditioner is on.  No
rattling when the AC is off.
