the keypad immobiliser has stopped immobilising on my 1997 406 exec 1.9 TD.
Fortunately, the engine runs, but I'm concerned over insurance implications.
Symptoms are:  Green light on KPI all the time;  attempts to reprogramme or

Hello peeps

I've just had a 'After Market' full exhaust system fitted to my 406

Personally I think this is duff exhaust and I'm asking the garage to

Copper hose joiner?19 May 2005 18:36 GMT3
I need to join 2 pieces of breather pipe together.  I tried looking for a
plastic hose joiner at my local motor shoppe, and found some plastic ones
with ribs on (just what I wanted).  The only sizes they sell tho are 13mm &
8mm.  My pipe is approx 11mm.  I feel the 8mm will be too ...
205D water in fuel light19 May 2005 10:02 GMT3
I’ve never had the "water in fuel" light come on in my 205d, even
when my old engine died dramatically with all the fluids everywhere.
It’s an August 1991 205 1.8 Diesel Style.
Am I missing the circuit or is it broken?
Engines and Turbos: Which ones?19 May 2005 08:41 GMT3
I am starting to seriously think about upgrading the engine in my 205.
I want a Diesel in this car (will be getting a 1.6GTi soon to get used
to a petrol before I get an Mi16) but was wondering which I should
get. I’m tempted to stick with the XUD7T for simplicity but was

We can pump the fuel back into the line using the hand pump in the

Those lovely smoky mornings....18 May 2005 08:25 GMT12
had a 405 1.9 Turbo Diesel for about 3 months now.
It seems very willing and pleasant to drive.
However it has started to take a little longer to start in the mornings,
with the resultant cloud of smoke when it starts.
Can you diagnose this idle problem?17 May 2005 20:01 GMT2
A year 2000, 1.8 16v XU7JP4.
When the car has warmed up and is idling, there is an intermittent miss.  I

can feel the car gentle vibrate then stop, vibrate then stop.  Inside the
106 stepper motor17 May 2005 19:36 GMT1
If i wanted to try cleaning the stepper motor in a 1999 peugeot 106 to
stop erratic idling, where exactly would I find the stepper motor?
If somebody would be kind enough to give me directions, I would very much
appreciate it.

My recently purchased 205 GTI 1.6 has a mind of its own when it comes
to its Idle point, and often dips so low that the car stalls, every
time the car slows down.
The problem is that sometimes the car decides to behave, and idles at
