I'm in the process of replacing the head on a 106 - 1st time for me,
so please bear with me :)
Because of the way the engine failed, I was unable to get it to TDC
and fix all the sprockets so I'm having to do it after the event. This

My first Peugeot was a brand new 504 in the early 70s. Since then I've
had a 505 and I currently have a 406 SV. I often see 504s still
operating - I am in Australia - and now, as the 407s begin to appear in
this group, I am prompted to ask:

I`m unable to remove the upper bolts on both the front drop links.
They appear to be siezed with the bolt head recessed into the upper
link such that spanners/sockets are unable to sit fully down.
Now, as I see it I have two feasible options.

Right then...
After my first tankful, I've returned 42mpg, this seems a bit low as I
was expecting in the region of 50mpg. The car has done 83000 miles, was
driven at no more than 3000rpm on a 12 mile commute (city and dual

Just to thank the group for the suggestion that changing the hand brake
switch may cure the
problem of the 'brake fluid warning message' appearing for no apparent
reason.

Can anyone tell me which clutch type I've got or tell me how to
identify this? It's an S reg 1.9 turbo diesel GLX saloon. I've got a
problem with excessive travel on the clutch pedal (I have to put the
pedal to the floor to change gear) and a fair bit of play before it

Anyone know how to stop the exhaust clattering about? It´s hung of two
rubber thingys and I want to bring it up tight to stop the clatter. Any

Looking for a new 'tow' car to pull 1250 kg caravan.  Have driven the

Hi there. Any ideas with the following??
Within the last week the heater in the pug is blowing colder air. Usually it
takes 2 or 3 miles for a decent temp to start  coming through the vents but
just lately, it's like someone's turned down the heat settings. The water is

I have just purchased a 406 lx hdi 90 ac&sn
All working fine bar the radio. Turn the volume up as high as it will go and
you can hear it like its on volume 1. Same happens on sat nav voice . It
seems like this is just a preamp type model pioneer pu 1646. I can't find a
