Squeak!!!30 Aug 2008 10:18 GMT9
My 52 plate 406 has developed a squeak!
When I first start the engine it sounds like a bird chirping under the

Closer examination suggests it's coming from the pulley of the unit

Hydrogen fuel cell cars are expensive and impractical. So why would we
even consider them?

I'm struggling with this one.
My old 99 306TD has about 150,000 miles on the clock. For about the last
year the rear suspension makes a loud clacking/clicking noise on occasion
when driving over bumps.

The "oil pressure low" message appears on the center screen along with
the low oil warning light. Occasionally, the stop engine light comes up.
This happens at low rpms, when (a) accelerating very gently in 1st or
2nd gear, or, (b) coming to a stop from highway speeds without

406 Locking16 Aug 2008 19:21 GMT4
I have an HDI diesel 406 on a 02 plate. My problem is the central locking.
When I press the button to lock the car, I can hear the locks activate
followed by a bleep but the car is not locked, the bleep is something new.
This has happened intermittently over the last couple of ...

Headlamp indicator flashing15 Aug 2008 08:00 GMT1
On my P406 the indicator light on the dashboard that tells you that the
headlamps are on occasionally flashes on and off for no apparent reason
(usually, but not always, when the headlamps are on).
Is this trying to tell me something or is it a fault.  I suspect it's a

406 diesel idle problem07 Aug 2008 18:22 GMT1
I'm having a problem with my 2001  2.0 litre HDi 406 not returning to idle.
More often than not it sticks at about 1200 revs as opposed to the 750/800
it used to. Sometimes blipping the accelererater makes it die down to
normal,othertimes it just won't budge.
