| engine life expectancy | 27 Apr 2005 00:45 GMT | 3 |
I'm looking to buy an 89 Firebird Formula from someone I know. It has 140,000 miles on it. Presuming it's been well maintained from day one, how many miles can I expect that engine to live through before it dies. TIA!!!

| 84 FBird: ? on bolt pattern and solution for bent rim(s) | 24 Apr 2005 23:36 GMT | 2 |
First just thought I'd share an experience with others so that some may benefit from this possible solution... We have an (almost) 1 owner very original 84 Firebird, 2.8V6, F41 suspension. For over a decade balancing a few of the rims has been problematic sometimes yielding wildly ...

| Spark Plug Heat Range - V6 2.8L | 24 Apr 2005 23:34 GMT | 4 |
My '84 2.8L V6 calls for an AC R43TS. However in my experience the R44T or R45T are better choices (heat range) for my old 1970 SBC 350. I don't get too caught up in brands but do like to choose plugs based on heat range. I'm wondering if the SAME is true for the 84 2.8L V6??? E.g. ...

| Preserving Collectibles | 21 Apr 2005 06:34 GMT | 17 |
In the past I have stated there are Very Few "Rare" Third Gen cars. I should have said there are Very Few "Special" or "One of a Kind" Third gens. It seams to me the Collectible cars are falling prey to Idiots & butt-pirates. Who are either parting them out with out knowing what ...

| 1974 455 Rebuild | 16 Apr 2005 08:10 GMT | 9 |
Well, I finished my project a couple of days ago. Took just over 4 weeks to go through the engine and transmission. I had a local shop do the tranny, and I had a Stage 2 shift kit installed along with an Allison 18-2100 stall converter. They said the transmission had some sludge ...
