'98 Pontiac Sunfire... strange grindand squelching sounds from engine  on startup.30 Dec 2006 13:30 GMT6
Hey, my 1998 Sunfire is pretty much all stock and I don't know much
about the ins and outs of it, but recently since the cold weather has
been acting up every time I start it up after about a day's of rest,
there will some grinding noises coming from the (what I think) the
Pontiac G6 now Has a 3.6 as the performance engine..Why?30 Dec 2006 05:57 GMT6
Why has Pontiac now gone to the more powerful yet smaller 3.6 eng as an
option over the 3.9 eng. ?
Is the 3.6 a better design? I can't find any technical info on this
engine...is it a new redesigned engine or a rehash? Why is GM so fast to

Thinking about ordering a GT with sport package:  6 speed manual, 3.9l
V6, 18" tires etc.  Not sure about radio.  Can't find out if speakers
are the same with the Sun Sound package instead of stock system.
Original system is single cd and monsoon speakers - package includes 6

Does anyone know how to replace the side mirror (driver's) on a 2001
Montana. I purchased a new mirror on-line but I am at loss to figure

A few weeks ago, I was on here with my 1988 Pontiac 6000 (2.5 with
125,000 miles approximately) having engine noises.  Most of you seemed
to think it is probably the rockers, but we said we weren't worried
about it because it only happened the day it was 5 degrees (F).  Well,

i just bought the car and the radio is locked and no one knows the code to
unlock! was told it would cost like $80 if i take to pontiac. any other

 Got a quick question.  How do Pontiac V-8 engine blocks compare to small
block/big block Chevrolets?

I have a 2000 Grand Prix GT w/ power windows and power locks. One day,
after finishing a butt, I went to put  the driver's side window up from
being down about 1/2 way, when, without warning, THE WINDOW WOULD NOT
GO UP!! It would,  however, still go down no problem. So, after

this is an automatic and it will not start. The car wants to start but
can't. The theft system light is on the dashboard. Can anyone please
help me figure this out.

it, pretty sure the fluid
and filter for the trans have never been replaced. I'm driving today on

It's a '98 and has been checked and determined that there are no
computer codes creating the problem.
While driving (mainly under 40 mph) the chime rings and the "check
gauges" light comes on right before it stalls; it then always starts up

My neighbor has a Firebird 3.4 eng.OHV ....he's trying to get the
camshaft out,with the engine in the car....it has a plug with a hold
down clamp...where the distributor would be.(it has coil packs)Does this
have to come out to release the cam?If so how is it removed?He has the

I have a 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix. It has never given me any problems
since I have owned it. Just last week I noticed the temperature gauge
in the car looked like it was pretty close to heating up (a notch
before the red line). I checked all of the fluids and they were all

I've got a 2002 Grand Am (3.4L V6) with almost 99,000 miles on it.
I recently switched over to synthetic oil (Valvoline Max Life
Synthetic) b/c i had a coupon from vioc and figured i'd try it out.
Now, i've gotten it a couple of times, but i haven't noticed any
