| Wheel Balance Weight Glue Cleaner | 29 Aug 2003 02:55 GMT | 3 |
I recently replaced the tires on my '89 911 Targa. The shop removed the stick-on wheel weights from the rims but left the tape/glue mess. What is useful in cleaning this off the rim? Thanks in advance...

| Voltage Regulator location on '87 911 | 29 Aug 2003 00:08 GMT | 2 |
Can anyone tell me if the VR on an '87 911 is integrated into the alternator or if it is external (and where it is)? My battery is getting very hot and the voltage on it while the car is running is 18 - 20v. I'm guessing it is the VR but can't find it.

| First Porsche 911 | 24 Aug 2003 14:20 GMT | 3 |
Hi to the group. I've read what little I've see here and elsewhere. I figure I'll have about 10K for a downpayment soon....finance.....hmmmm.....30K... I've wanted a 911 for 30 years. And now I think I can afford one.

| 911S - First Drive | 24 Aug 2003 07:37 GMT | 1 |
Yesterday I got to drive a 911S for the first time time. It was a 1977 and I must say it had much more power than I was expecting. I couldn't believe how loud it was either, like a race car. What kind of power and performance did those things have? The car wasn't modified and had ...

| 1990 C2 oil pressure low | 22 Aug 2003 13:39 GMT | 1 |
Hi, I just got my oil changed from a car I bought 3 months ago. The mechanic put in 10w-30. Now I get the oil pressure lamp on when I'm at idle. Should I replace it with 10w-40 or even higher? Am I deluded or just got screwed? The car has 106,000 miles. Thanks, Bob

| Air conditioning on a 2002 911 | 21 Aug 2003 19:41 GMT | 1 |
Is there a quick way to turn off the air conditioning completely (other than pressing the - button several times)? I usually like to turn off the AC when I shut down the car so that when I start the car, nothing unneccesary is running and drawing power

| 1980 911SC High Beam Indicator | 19 Aug 2003 18:39 GMT | 1 |
My 1980 911SC does not pass the NC car inspection because the high beam indicator light does not work. Of course it easily passes the smog test - go figure. Any insights to (1)removing the speedometer so I can get to the bulb, (2)

| 2003 996 stumbles a bit at cruising highway speeds | 15 Aug 2003 14:12 GMT | 1 |
I have a new (2003) 996 w/X50 option, 6-speed manual. While I am very happy with it, at highway cruising speeds in third to fifth gears around 3,000 - 3,500 rpm, the car tends to stumble or hesitate a little when slightly depressing the accelerator or just before releasing the

| blower fans problem in 1980 911 SC Targa | 15 Aug 2003 01:36 GMT | 1 |
I have a problem with the blower fans of my brand new (well, brand new for me at least) 1980 911 SC. Basically, when I move the cold air switch to the right, the blower fans do not start. I check the fuses, and they look all right.

| Cost of brake job? | 14 Aug 2003 02:57 GMT | 2 |
I am somewhat interested in purchasing a 1989 930. Appears to be in nice shape. The PPI noted that the brakes are down in the 30-40% range of pad left. Anyone have a ballpark estimate on the price of a front brake job, and a rear brake job? This is more to get a sense

| 1977 Porsche 911 - back into service advice needed !! | 12 Aug 2003 04:01 GMT | 3 |
I have a 1977 Porsche 911S that has been sitting in my garage for the last 10 years or so. I am contemplating using it while I wait for my regular car to come back from major repair. For as long as I can remember, once a year, I would start it up, let the engine warm up, wash it, ...

I'm new to the group and have a question that's undoubtedly been asked thousands of times before. My car is in excellent condition with relatively low mileage (60K) and is driven infrequently (one weekend per month). Just recently I've experienced
